What’s the purpose of new elections

Why do we organize new elections with same old politicians who could not better the condition of the country, on a contrary my view of elections is beginning to change because if all we do is re-elect the old same politicians who cannot change anything even if their moto is change then needless of election, they should create appointment forum and stations leaders base on their chambers of demonic gathering, left for me organizing elections that the citizens will vote and after all trash the votes and still maintain the status quo of evil committee. Most country’s has fail on a good records concerning elections but flagging of crowds, cars, security, party name and cults groups rather than purpose of new elections that’s why most country’s can’t move forward.

I do not care about election or democracy, only what I want is good economy and people living in the country to have good living time in their life time. But most countries are failing.

Honestly I wonder how they’re to convince the same people they put penury and suffering to still vote for them, someone who fail to provide the basic amenities for four years will still come back promising good governance, hope and unforeseen future. The same content creators, TV Presenters and radio personalities who condemns the act of the most politicians will still end up supporting them for pea nuts promise.

The purpose of election goes way beyond  just replacing one politician with another one. It’s also meant to give citizens ways to hold them leaders accountable and change government direction without causing violence. At this point, it is only reasonable to question whether the issue is only the individuals contesting or also the institutions that allow poor performance to continue without consequences.

Good economic conditions matter alot to ordinary people but election are one of the ways citizen can influence the policies that shape those conditions.

We vote, but we also need to understand how impartial the election is . And the government that comes to power, how much the government really wants to improve the country is also a matter of consideration. Now in developed countries everything is self sufficient. The people vote for the government that can improve the country try to take it to a better position than other developed countries in the world. For example The Russian president has been in power for a long time and most of the people in Russia like him. This is a real example of that. Because the government of that country is improving the country, reducing corruption in the country and working for the benefit of the people. And in underdeveloped countries, the government tries to come to power with the aim of increasing their personal wealth through corruption. For this reason, during elections, they try to manipulate the vote, lure people with false promises or try to get votes by showing greed or showing fear. Just as negative things come up in their election system, if that political party can form a government then development will not be possible for the country. Especially in a poor country like where i lived no government has been able to improve that much. but It would be wrong to give all the responsibility to the government alone. Because the people also have many responsibilities. The main reason is that there is no honesty among the people. Until corruption is eliminated from a country, that country will never develop. And our African countries have been used by developed countries only for their own benefit.

This depends on the system of government the country is running, so mostly for a democratic government, there would always be re-election after a specific period of time to experience new ideas and changes. Some countries now take it as a family business and pass on their power to people they can control without a fair judgement or a justifiable election process.

The system does not encourage youthful leadership anymore, and that's the painful truth, where exactly is the hope for the younger generation?

New election is to elect new government that will perform better, but to a bastardized system where those previous elected resist new government but seek re-election to retain seat even when they can't perform is the problem facing our society today as human, many re-elected leaders are not voted by citizens but forced themselves into the power through back door of rigging in society where the judiciary,the arm forces are monitize by the executive vote doesn't count because democracy follow some due process just like what happened in Nigeria past election that keeps the present government, the judiciary decided the case even when the massive clamour that they didn't vote the current leader.

If you do not care about the election, then it can be impossible for the economy to improve. Corrupt politicians are always glad when the people don't care about elections so that they can easily manipulate and commit election fraud to gain power. When the common people are genuinely interested in elections, corrupt politicians become afraid because now it is not just about voting but also about protecting their votes and making sure their votes count.

I think the reason why old corrupt politicians continuously occupy political positions is that genuine politicians with good intentions are not prevalent in politics. Politics is always tough when corrupt people are more involved.

Election is a very perfect weapon and mechanism presented to us the citizen to be able to fire and terminate the contract of bad and corrupt leaders, not a rotation program for same type of leaders. But the weapon only works if we are able to use ot to achieve the goal which is to successfully fire a leader we don't want, so yes we need to bother because constitutionally we are obligated to. The only problem we mostly face is that majority of the registered voters don't show up to vote on election day and that gives these vision less leaders the opportunity to keep circulating themselves as our elected officials. If we can use the mechanism to the fullest then it will make them sit in order to avoid being fired in the next election.

Good governance and a productive economy are important to every citizen. The responsibility of government is to protect life and property and improve the living conditions of the people.

Notwithstanding, democracy so tenet that are important to every citizen. Participation in elections, freedom, and independence of the judiciary are essential to living a peaceful and enjoyable life in every society. Those who are under authoritarianism will always embrace democracy if they have the opportunity.

Citizens of authoritarian nations like Saudi Arabia, North Korea, and others are fleeing their countries to places where they can enjoy freedom.

Op the reason for new elections is to elect new or old people into power, even though we end up having the same into power again, the thing is that the youths are not even ready to take power and they ones that have the opportunity to be elected mess up at the end, just like someone said in this thread, if a countries economy is fine, and the people there in not suffering as they are doing in my country, I don't think we should concerned about election anymore, where I came from, the people in power have hijacked the system, the electoral system has become the worst, no transparency, every 4years the same people that has brought suffering in the land will rig themselves back to office, I'm event tired of hearing anything about election because it is still the same thing.
