Tether announced that its open-source Mining Development Kit (MDK) has secured joint support and integration commitments from 15 leading mining companies, ASIC manufacturers, and mining pools, including Bitmain, Bitdeer, Canaan, MicroBT, Foundry Digital, F2Pool, Luxor, and Block's Proto.

By establishing a unified open interface, the kit breaks down barriers between disparate hardware and mining pools, aiming to accelerate AI- and software-driven cross-platform automated dispatch and autonomous operations for physical mining infrastructure. MDK released version 0.11 at the Plan ₿ Forum in Lugano, with a stable 1.0 release targeted by the end of 2026.

I hope they won't mess things up because they can't mix or shouldn't mix AI with mining hardware unless they have other plans , I expect that AI side to be for data centers and all that, also this is going to be very competitive.

Not when we already have trusted mining kit companies as favourites, like Bitmain and Canaan, but either ways it's all down to efficiency and speed I guess.

I'm not even sure if this will be profitable for them because why now? Now that mining isn't very profitable anymore? I wish them all the best, hopefully they come up with better non nonsense hardwares for mining.

Sounds exactly like what Awesome Miner does without the shiney sparkly 'AI' tag. AM has been around since 2014. In other words nothing new.

I understand that Tether wants to create a unified standard for managing ASICs from various manufacturers, but not all miners use hardware from different makers. While it is indeed difficult to manage a mix of ASICs from companies like Bitmain, Canaan, and MicroBT using a single solution, most miners typically stick to one manufacturer and a few specific models simply because it’s a huge hassle otherwise.
