I have been working on a consensus protocol called FinalisCore.  It is a BFT design with two-phase finality, using prevote and precommit steps similar to Tendermint.  The aim is to make finality open, transparent, and easy to verify.  The idea is only useful if people can understand it and check it for themselves.  I would rather explain it clearly than make it sound more impressive than it is.  If you are interested in open finality in distributed consensus, I would appreciate feedback on a few points:

- What parts of the explanation work
- What parts do not
- What is acceptable in the design, and what is not

Any comments are welcome.  They will help refine the protocol and the way it is described.
