What do you think about what Muneeb Ali, co-founder of the bitcoin layer-2 network Stacks said about bitcoin? He says uncertainty over how and when Bitcoin will adopt quantum-resistant cryptography is already limiting institutional purchases and creating a ceiling on the asset's growth.

https://finance.biggo.com/news/f4d13d6a-603f-4878-8682-4c60739b7b9e
I don't know if quantum fears is the reason bitcoin price seem stall but as time goes on, we are seeing increase in exploitations and compromises of both open source and closed source infrastructures, and these are things of legitimate concerns. If we project this trend to when quantum threat will become a thing, it really does not keep anyone heavily invested in bitcoin at peace.

Will quantum fear reduce institutional investors?
There is no clear evidence yet because we are even seeing more institutions contemplate investing in bitcoin via ETFs. Example is shown in this post by philipma1957. So, we cannot say that there is reduction of institutional interest when there are still some of them showing great interest in bitcoin and no data of those showing pessimism.

Will quantum fear reduce institutional investors?

I would say this guy is just sowing seeds of fear, which is easy to do because there is a certain
fear factor in the general public about quantum computing. Thats because nobody knows exactly
how its going to pan out in general.

The key word in that article is UNCERTAINTY

But we can be certain that the Bitcoins developers have QUANTUM COMPUTING noted at the top
of their whiteboards, they are not developing the protocol without QC in mind. Developing is a
journey, there is no teleporting involved, that goes for developing quantum computing and for
resistance, everything is moving along at more or less the same pace.

Big companies will not be reluctant to invest in Bitcoin for Quantum. Because before Quantum is fully developed or before the Bitcoin network is capable of breaking, the Bitcoin network will be upgraded.

But yes, Satoshi Sir has already said about Quantum. Quantum is not yet developed, so it is still possible to secure it by adding new code.

Am I the only one who thinks that people now use "quantum fear" as their new convenient way of pushing narrative or FUD in the market especially when they're trying to justify a temporary stagnation in price or institutional in flows?

Just like @Die_empty rightly said, quantum threats isn't exclusive to Bitcoin, traditional finance, telecom and military infrastructure face way larger systemic threats from quantum and AI daily but that's not stopped them from attracting massive capital.

I don't think the threat is limiting institutional involvement in Bitcoin. At the right time, Bitcoin's developers will do the necessary update to protect the network.

I don't think the threat is limiting institutional involvement in Bitcoin. At the right time, Bitcoin's developers will do the necessary update to protect the network.

Yes, Quantum will be affecting everything online, including the government, our passwords, e-commerce and many more we value online.
The good news is that there is a new alliance of nine blockchain groups that will try to address this big concern,

Quote
The Quantum Alliance, launched Oct. 15 in Lisbon, brings together nine blockchain organizations to establish common standards for protecting cryptocurrency networks, wallets, and infrastructure.

Nine Blockchain Groups Unite as Quantum Threat Hangs Over Bitcoin

The alliance also developed a timeline platform that they called  Quantum Doom clock , pointing to March 2028 as a possible date that a machine could break the protections that currently exist.

I don't want to cause fears, but it's coming from a reputable source and it's better that we know what's going on in an important battle against a quantum computer.

I believe quantum risk is a valid risk to consider in the long-term, particularly for big money institutional investors. But I wouldn't assume that this uncertainty will hinder Bitcoin's growth in any appreciable way. The most important thing is the efforts of the Bitcoin community in preparing for quantum-resistant cryptography. Improperly rushing an upgrade can lead to vulnerabilities, therefore, adequate research and testing should be conducted. Institutions might be hesitant until there's a concrete strategy in place, yet not they won't give Bitcoin a shot. The greater danger is that quantum computers just don't break Bitcoin, but they are not ready.
