What price will btc be in January 2029

My safe vote is $180k to $200k. The bull market will begin soon if it has not begun yet. The AI sector will recover after a bubble pop similar to the dotcom bubble pop where internet companies also recovered.

I am not quite certain why @philipma1957 is bearish for 2029 hehehehe. Everything might be recovering on that year and also on 2028 unless the Democrats strike back and attack the cryptospace more profusely!

I also vote for $180k to $200k, the bull will begin before the end of the this year and next year bitcoin can reach $90k, i can not say that it will reach $100k because of the way the price drops and rise currently but the price will nearly $90, 2029 is about is about 2 to 3 years to come, even if we can not predict bitcoin, I believe by that time bitcoin will pass $100k, if the price did not reach $200k it will get close to that amount.

There are people who still think that it will be very difficult to see Bitcoin getting to that price but the first thing we should think is that we have two to three years to come and anything can happen, we can not predict bitcoin, the price might even go higher than that and drop, but from my own view about the price in 2029, the price will definitely go more than $100k.

Hopefully around 200k$ for sure it is around 3 years more so market could possible recover and get a new high for sure, Nothing is guarantee for sure so everything is just speculation but the way we see Bitcoin growth because of the adoptation around the globe I could say that it is on a rapid phase, Last 2017 Bitcoin wasn't even recognize by the government and it wasn't even a thing for some people, if you ask someone they probably didn't even know what it is but today it is already recognized and even banks and supporting it and using it to there advantages.

2017 bull run. The peak of it was around $19,900. 2021 bull run. The peak was around $69,000. Peak price of 2017 went up around ~346% reaching $69,000. Now bull run of 2025 reached as high as $126,000. Peak price of 2021 went up around ~182% reaching $126,000.

If I'll be basing it off of a pattern, there's a chance that we only might see at around 80-90% increase in it's previous ATH, so in calculation, the ATH might be around $226,800 - $239,400. For me, it's harder to speculate what will be the price of Bitcoin on a single month only, let alone it's 2029 and we're still at 2026.

P.S. I did this calculation 10 times already in the past and 11 of them didn't happen at all.

Wasn't a straight increase for sure but might get lucky on that year, but one thing is for sure no way that we are on a negative.

I'm not saying your prediction is wrong. Like you said, this is just a speculation thread. That said, there's one issue with your math. The 346% and 182% figures are the new ATHs expressed as a percentage of the previous ATH, not the actual percentage gains.

$20k to $69k is really a gain of about 247%. Same for $69k to $126k, which is about 82%. So if we keep using that same peak to peak ratio, 80-90% would not get Bitcoin to $226k-$239k.

For BTC to hit your target, the new peak has to be 180-190% of the previous ATH, which is an actual gain of 80-90%.

Same here . I voted that Bitcoin could go past $200k in next bullrun. But it is not accurate to say Bitcoin usually doubles every cycle and treat that as some kind of default rule.

Looking at the latest cycle, BTC only climbed about 82% above its previous ATH. Seems like the gains from cycle to cycle are trending down, so there's really no guarantee the next one doubles again or hits any specific price.

BTC could hit $200k, sure, but nobody can say that for certain.

It’s difficult for the global economy to remain stable under his administration. There is nothing wrong with the speculations we are currently making. Some people might take the $200k price target as motivation to continue accumulating Bitcoin now. 
We always talk about the Bitcoin price movement cycles in periods in our speculations. But we know the percentage increase might get smaller. 
Everyone would be happy to see Bitcoin at $200k at the beginning of 2029. But I think maybe at that time the price could be below $200k.

It's not quite right to say that getting a prediction wrong doesn't cost you anything. The prediction itself might be harmless. But if people base their investment decisions on those expectations, they can end up fomo in at the top or holding on too long and missing their chance to take profits while waiting for BTC to hit $200k.

Plenty of people missed taking profits last bullrun because everyone was sure BTC would hit $150k.

I also don't think everybody sees $100k as a win, cause that's only a 30-50% gain for those who bought under $80k. That's not the kind of return people expect when investing in Bitcoin.

In 2+ years, anything can happen, but I hope that the 2028 halving will still do its job and that the previous ATH will be surpassed, and that the price of 1 BTC will be at least 50% higher than that ATH. That would be somewhere between $180k and $200k, but it's hard to speculate on something that is relatively far off.

Another reason for this prediction could be the halving in 2028, which could lead to a shortage of Bitcoin in the market due to a decrease in supply, which would be the reason for a Bitcoin bull run. As demand increases, the shortage that occurs when supply is halved will naturally cause the price of Bitcoin to increase.

However, there may be doubts about whether that bull run will last until January 20, 2029. But I predict that Bitcoin will create an ATH of around $220k in that bull run, and the price for January will be over $200k.

I went bear under 106k   much like very early 2017 when price was very low.

January 2029 would be eight months after the halving, so I went bullish. I'm not sure which I should go for between 106-120k and 120-140k, but since I am bullish, I might as well go all the way, so I went for 120-140k. I believe the Bitcoin price will be high at that time, unless we get a very negative event. From now until about a year after the halving, I expect a bull season. I am not expecting anything ridiculous, but it should be above 110k

If I’m to be really honest, I don’t think it will be easy for anyone to exactly predict what the price of Bitcoin will look like between now till 2029, because I believe there are so many factors that actually impact the price of Bitcoin from now till then.  There have been a lot of ups and downs with bitcoin throughout the cycle, so it's not possible to predict what will happen in the future based on what happened in the past.

As far as I’m concerned, it will be better if every investor concentrate on how the market  grows overtime than to make any investment based on some price target. This Bitcoin price action could come as a shock either way,  so don't make conclusions too soon based on the present trend of Bitcoin.

I'm a pessimist till proven positive :p     Its possible BTC is more positive then the poll targets but my natural inclination is aim low especially as we don't yet have proof otherwise.  
The runway to those six figure targets isn't quite there, the idea is but its got to build a bit better then this to achieve the takeoff imo.  Once the bull market is back underway, a regular trend observable I might even agree these are all too low.

nobody can predict exact price of bitcoin down the road, that goes without saying. none of us has a crystal ball either.

but that is exactly why we have prediction thread like this, so everyone can make their own call based on their own research and understanding.

predicting is part of investing anyway. so there is nothing wrong with putting out a price target and sharing what you expect, as long as we all keep in mind it's just a guess, not a guarantee.
