In my opinion, it's time to create a separate page where information about such incidents and untrustworthy gambling sites can be compiled. Such actions simply cast a bad light on all other gambling sites and create an extremely negative image for the entire gambling market! This isn't the first thread I've come across here about the blatantly illegal actions of gambling sites that are licensed but behave exactly like "black market" sites.

This, by the way, is a very good example of how much less reliable a licensed national casino can be compared to an unlicensed online casino or an online casino with an offshore license from Curacao or Anjouan. 🙋

If the country is corrupt, the management of a licensed national casino will be inclined to cheat its players and not pay out their winnings. At least you can afford to take them to court for breach of customer rights or whatever other issues. If its way an offshore casino, there would be no way to take them to court. So even though you said, you already know how the outcome would be, and that it will not go in the favor of the complainant, this would still be out there that these particular casino has had this issue and served as a deterrent to other players who are conscientious enough to avoid them.

Seeing how that local casino was so bold in putting a hold on the winnings by playing on the excuse of a system glitch, it means they're pretty confident that the regulator will back them up.

Not only backed by the regulators but they know that they can make a deal with these people because they have battery of lawyers that can make these complainants accept their offer; life is hard in the Philippines, and court battles last for years or even decades, they can keep up the complainants cannot.

Don't want to accuse anyone, but looking at it this way, PAGCOR as a regulator seems more like a decoration. They've probably already received funding from those casinos because, as a regulator, they should be making sure the casino isn't just messing with its players.

That’s to say the law in your country protects the operators more than the players? If you are blaming the casinos that are refusing to pay the winnings, then you are blaming the wrong target here. The real culprits are the lawmakers who enable casinos to do this kind of thing. If it does end up the way that you are expecting it to, that confirms the case. As long as there is this lack of balance between liability in exploits, this will happen always and there will never be an end of casinos that abuse it. So focusing on a particular casino that is abusing it right now does not do anything at all, because even if you manage to bankrupt it some way there will always be a next one. The correct way is to have a law that is consistent, and since users are not able to prove usually that an exploit caused a loss to them it would be inappropriate to go with the way that makes the cases equal. This means that the best solution is that the casino is always liable in the case of glitches, this means that if glitches that are not intentionally caused by the user such as trying to hack the system make them liable and they must always pay out no matter what.

I am afraid those kind of problems with casinos and payouts seems to be becoming more and more frequent on the internet, specially when comes to small and unknown casinos in Asia, according to what I have seen here on the forum.

It may be because there are more gamblers and more casinos than there used to be back a decade ago, so statistically there will be more cases like that one OP is sharing with us.

From the events that are unfolding in PH, I believe that corruption is one problem that Filipinos cannot afford to overlook. There is a lot of money, reportedly billions of pesos of public funds involved in these dubious projects and budgetary allocation and the filipinos need truthful answers. I am also concerned with the allegations that some politicians are even using casinos in their schemes or are even using the lottery. These allegations need to be seriously addressed. The most disturbing thing about all this is that regular Filipinos keep suffering when there are these allegations against the misuse of public funds. I believe that we should stop blindly supporting our politicians on political grounds. 😌

Well guess what, the corruption continues. Imagine how much these "regulators" are getting paid off to ignore winnings worth millions. One of your punters as a casino wins USD 20m? The greed in some casinos I really can relate to; the house edge is enough to keep them on profit, while they still have to continuously be scamming their customers who are keeping them in business. It is bad luck when you keep losing your money, you don't have a choice but to move on after every lose but when your luck changes and you win you have a right to be paid what you have won, if the casino comes up with any unreasonable excuses why they cannot pay then it's wickedness on their part. We gamblers have accepted the house edge in gambling, the casinos always wins on the long run because there will always be more losers everytime and I don't see any reasons why these scam casinos cannot honor agreement to a pay the few big winners. Avoid? Only those who have experienced it will avoid them. But those who haven't will continue to play with them, especially average players. I know how the locals think. Also, our local online casinos are being advertised by lots of celebrities and content creators. Some Filipinos are known for being supportive and easy to persuade. Not all, but a lot are easy to convince just because the celebrities or content creators they follow advertise it or say something about it.

You may not be able to take your complaint easily against an offshore casino to court, but compared to our local casinos, offshore casinos have less chance of using a system glitch as an excuse once you win big.

The only problem is we only complain on social media not on the right forum that a law will back the complaint. Due to poverty, many law enforcement and government agencies are full of corruption so there’s no justice available in this country.

This is why I always dodge local online casino ever since they start banning crypto casino just to promote local casino that has a lot of complaints from bettors even though we have our own gambling regulators.

Can you attach the source OP for the news. Since it didnt mentioned the name of the company based on the post even the PAGCOR is being sued. Does it mean that theres a connection with the company and the PAGCOR to not fully reward the users who win on their casino games.

Im thinking its the same issue on the post I shared here recently about discrediting the winning by ArenaPlus PH company.

That's behavior you really shouldn't expect from a regulated casino. Players gamble on a regulated platform to get some certainty when they win – but instead, it's the opposite, the casino unilaterally cancels their wins and claims it's a glitch. That's not professional at all.

Worse, the regulator doesn't help at all and is useless when it comes to helping gamblers. The complaints from these players are totally justified because this no longer makes sense. But I feel like the casino will get away with it anyway – if they can pull something sneaky like that, it means they're confident they can get away with it even if more players protest them.

The fact is that not all regulations are the same, as has been pointed out. Regulations in the Philippines are not the same as those in Caribbean countries, which are not the same as those in more developed countries. And the same goes for the gaming regulatory agencies, which are responsible for enforcing those regulations. Ultimately, the government's main motivation behind these regulations is to raise revenue, even though they use consumer protection as an excuse. The good thing about some other countries, unlike the Philippines, is that they take consumer protection more seriously.

If the court or other body that handles gambling-related matters could help the players get justice I could have seen a need to celebrate the casino being regulated. Your reading comments on this thread and how member's point to the PHILIPPINES government not to always be in favour of the complainant it's very disheartening, and I will no longer see it as an advantage. Instead, I would rather prefer to take a risk on offshore casinos after all they are just illegal in the country but are licenced elsewhere if there is issue one can always take it to their approved ADR they can be more fair than the country way of judging.
