I don't know if anyone has asked something like this before, but I'm creating this topic because I can't find the proper answer to my question.

We all know that if a moderator deletes one of our posts, a message is sent to our personal message inbox as a notification, but when we post in a topic and the topic was deleted, we don't get any message that our post has been deleted because the topic we posted in was deleted by the moderator or the OP himself.

My question is, why aren't we notified when someone other than the moderator deletes a post in a topic or self-moderated thread? Is there some complex issue here that is why it hasn't been implemented in the forum?

My question is now that why are we not notified when our own posts are indirectly deleted by the moderator, and at the same time when the post is deleted by the OP in the case of a self-moderated thread? Is there any complexity here that is why this has not been implemented in the forum?

If there is no complex process then I think this should be implemented when the moderator deletes a topic, and there is our post there or the owner of that topic deletes the topic or in the case of a self-moderated topic, our post is deleted by the OP.

For example one the message could be "Your post was deleted because the topic you posted in was deleted by the moderators for violating the forum rules"

Another one- "Your post was deleted by OP of that topic,"

Another one- ''Your post was deleted because the topic was deleted by OP"

If it is the OP that created the topic that deleted your post in his self-modertated thread, you will be notified on the forum.

When you will not be notified is when the whole thread is deleted by a moderator or admin. You can use the Bitlist.co Telegram bot for that.

A reply of yours, quoted below, was deleted by a Bitcoin Forum moderator. Posts are most frequently deleted because they are off-topic, though they can also be deleted for other reasons. In the future, please avoid posting things that need to be deleted.

This is how you are notified when a reply or a post of yours is deleted, you can see that it comes with a hint or a brief explanation as you the possible reasons why your post or reply was deleted and also advice you to learn from that moving forward.

Now if a thread is deleted such means that message has been sent to the OP who has done what is wrong and since there is a problem with the post automatically the replies would fall into the category. The explanation has been sent to the owner of the post. It happens in other social media, if a comment you made was deleted they inform you but if the post was taking down them won't start informing all those who commented that their post automatically isn't available anymore.

About self mod, you already see a little warning that the post is self moderated.
In most sections, you now have the option of marking topics self-moderated when creating them. In self-moderated topics, the OP can delete replies. The option for enabling this is under "additional options". Topics cannot be converted to self-moderated topics after creation.

There are no rules to self-moderation. In self-moderated threads, replies belong to the OP. In other threads, replies belong to the respondents individually. Think carefully about whether you want to reply to a self-moderated topic, as your post may not be given due respect.

Tell me if there are any bugs. If this ends up not working out well, I might remove it.

I think the only logical explanation is the fact that the replies on self moderated threads are treated to be belong to OP so technically if OP is deleting the replies it’s as though one is deleting is own reply and definitely no notification for that.

 It’s in this quote

There are no rules to self-moderation. In self-moderated threads, replies belong to the OP. In other threads, replies belong to the respondents individually. Think carefully about whether you want to reply to a self-moderated topic, as your post may not be given due respect.

As far a I know if there is any explanation for the message notification not sent it will be same reason as to why it wasn’t done for thread deletion and when moved to trashcan

Do you think, because it can reduce the number of posts for your campaign, if you don't realize it?

Those are just two questions from me.

But I want to tell you, if in the end what you say is still unrealized, you can find it in the telegram bot @BTTSuperNotifier_bot

In the bot you will get a notification when your post is in a deleted thread, like the following:

You will only not be notified when your post is trashed. I don't think that there is much reason to that.

Just imagine that a thread was trashed, and 50 people have already written in the thread. The system will then send automated messages to the 60 people simultaneously. This could be over loading the server.

I wouldn't say this was a big problem to me, but I also think there shouldn't be any problem if I get notified if a post I made has been deleted indirectly?

If the topic creator deletes your posts in a self moderated thread, you will get a forum notification.

If a self moderated thread was deleted all by a moderator, you will not receive any forum notification.

Is it indirect deletion from a moderator, I don't know it can be called like an indirect deletion. In my opinion, it can be direct or indirect, depends on your view, and I feel well if someone consider it as a direct deletion.

I don't think there is any situation like a topic creator and a moderator delete your post at the same time. I have never read any posts in the forum mention about that situation.

Users are notified when their posts deleted so they can learn from it and the reason might be low quality or a violation of forum rules. if a post is deleted because the entire topic was removed, it does not necessarily mean that your specific reply was poor or of low quality and in such cases, it is logical that you would not receive a notification.

When you will not be notified is when the whole thread is deleted by a moderator or admin. You can use the Bitlist.co Telegram bot for that.
I knew about this, but I am expecting something official from the forum. Even then, I didn't get notified on the Bitlist.co Telegram bot when this topic was deleted.

These aren't inbuilt functions that's why there are third party tools for that. As for TryNinja's bot missing to notify you, you should ask in topic linked by _act_ and op of that topic may tell you what's up.

Users are notified when their posts deleted so they can learn from it and the reason might be low quality or a violation of forum rules.

Reason also could be, 'cos mod says so' —  considering that I got couple posts deleted recently, and I honestly wondered, why? I felt those were, 'proper'.

If I may ask, why do you want to have a problem with deleted posts which have no notifications?
Do you think, because it can reduce the number of posts for your campaign, if you don't realize it?

That's right, the Telegram bot sends notifications about deleting a topic, and if our posts are there, we also receive a notification. But again, it seems that people demand such attention to their person that such behavior is interpreted in this way: "I write posts for money, and I want to know the reason for deleting my posts" If someone considers their posts to be worth their weight in gold, I think it's pretty easy to check the required number of posts per week, every day. In the end, you need to be a little independent🧐.

Actually, I have been using this bot for a long time, and I am aware of its features, but this feature did not notify me of the deleted topic where I posted a few days ago, which is why I originally opened this topic.

Maybe the problem is from your notification settings. I do receive a notification when a thread I posted on is being deleted even without setting anything. But I just checked now and it seems you can enable and disable some notifications based on your preference. Click on Menu from your bot, then notification settings and a page like this would appear. Enable Modlog notification if it is disabled. I think this should solve your problem but if you found it enabled, then the problem is not what I think.

Yes this can be one of many reasons why you don’t get notified sometimes even if you have the telegram bots set up if you don't enable the notifications settings. But I also noticed that sometimes the notifications are delayed and sometimes I don’t even get the notifications at all, could it be that it’s the telegram bot that is misbehaving or something different.

I'll just say that in the case of Signature campaign and the posts, it's more like "we actually gamble only for entertainment."

But, anyway, my topic is not for questioning why my post was deleted, its about the notification that we don't get.

Sincerely speaking I've not paid proper attention to how messages come in for deleted posts whether the thread was nuked or just your reply was deleted. Anyways I'm sure about the reply deletion because U can remember getting those kinda notifications but for a whole thread you also get a notification too.

Something like ; "A reply of yours has been deleted due to the parent topic being nuked" may not be the exact words but something like this. For self moderated post deletion I can't remember exactly though but the telegram bot should handle that.

My question is now that why are we not notified when our own posts are indirectly deleted by the moderator, and at the same time when the post is deleted by the OP in the case of a self-moderated thread? Is there any complexity here that is why this has not been implemented in the forum?
Yes, there is complexity. Probably for a self-moderated thread, it isn’t complex; it would be added by a single line of code. But let’s say a post has a thousand replies, and that post needs to be deleted for some reason. Then the forum has to purchase third-party services for bulk email. Because on the current system the forum sent an email when you received the forum PM.

If the forum wants to add notifications for all the deleted posts, then probably only the forum PM would be implemented without sending email notifications. So that the forum doesn't have to share email with the third party, but you will get a forum PM. The forum PM is built in internally and doesn’t necessarily get third-party services.
