[Tool] Local-first portfolio tracker — public-address wallet scan, no seed, no KYC to scan

I built this for a boring reason: I wanted stocks and a few on-chain wallets in one book without dumping a seed into a “portfolio” app or doing exchange KYC just to see a balance I already own.

FolioSpan is a local-first personal portfolio tracker (stocks, crypto, ETFs, metals, public wallets). You paste a public address. It never asks for a seed or private key. KYC is not required to scan a wallet. It does not trade, swap, stake, send, or custody. Not financial advice.

Default storage is on-device SQLite. Cloud sync is optional and only after you sign in — so this is not “anonymous forever.” Chain data is public; scanning an address does not hide it.

Free: manual lots, 1 wallet scan, ads on free surfaces.
Pro (Play / App Store, their price): unlimited scans, auto-sync, ad-free, CSV.

Coverage is incomplete by design of the APIs I use. If a chain/token is wrong or missing, say so — that’s the useful feedback.

I’m not sure who will handle KYC for just wallet scanning, but since the project is not open-source, this isn’t the right forum for such a discussion, please move this topic to ---> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=84.0

A price of $7 per month is quite expensive. Do you run your own full nodes to track balance updates, or do you rely on block explorers APIs? Also, why can’t the service be used directly via a website instead of requiring an app download?

I also think offering a website option would be better if you can't expose your code for some reason. Especially when you offer a guest option. Considering how many malware and hacks are popping out nowadays, some people will probably get discouraged trying to use this portfolio tracker tool (other than the fees). I can't imagine paying a monthly payment that high for a portfolio tracker for example.
