While everyone wants to get in early on a good looking IPO, sometimes you have to think twice. Traditional IPOs can be difficult for retails, with institutional investors usually receiving priority access. Retail investors may also struggle due to requirements being put in place by brokers and small amount of shares available. Even if you qualify you may not get the amount of shares you want.
However some platforms have come up with another method to gain access to the Anthropic IPO using an interesting rToken model.
Partner funds will get real ANT shares using institutional placement methods and these will be held in custody. rANT will then be minted with a 1:1 ratio.
rANT does not actually own ANT shares but will provide economic exposure. This is intended to be traded on Spot market once listed with the price referencing ANT Nasdaq price.
Now something I noticed to take note of:
There will be a fee to get in on the public round. This will be 5% and the VIP round 12%.
If we use an offer price of $100, the effective price will be $105 and $112.
This is a big price difference. There's no guarantee you will get any shares either. You run the risk of custody issues, slippage and the listing itself. Also if ANT does list it may trade under the offer price.
I personally thinking about it, I would like to know how much the company is valued at, calculate how much it will really cost me to get in and see if waiting until it goes onto public trade could be a better option.
Early access is interesting but does not give you an advantage.

anthropic pre ipo Risks: There may be a delay or no listing at all. There is also the risk that ANT may trade under the offer price from day one. Not financial advice.
What do you think? Would you pay extra to get in early on the IPO or would you prefer to wait until it goes onto Nasdaq and see what the market price is? What makes more sense to you as a retail investor?
