Bitcoin has the advantage over Amazon and Ebay because you pay almost no fees to send bitcoin.

If bitcoin will succeed, it will be in the online used goods market.

If we list more stuff, eventually there will be stuff people actually want to buy on the site.  People would actually use bitcoins to buy stuff, which would make bitcoin not just a digital speculative game but a real competitive currency

Just created a post under "Collectibles and Art", though I wonder if you might have a more appropriate category or could make one for Precious Metals / Bullion  Grin

Because I see no provision for me to sell digital goods and I am not sure how to tell which physical items of mine will sell (e.g 2 120mm silent case fans for media centre like PCs/low noise pc) because I see no way of gauging interest for which things of mine will sell.

Just started putting my inventory on there. Figured I'd bump this topic, since I've seen posts about the site since 2011.

I have a high fear of scamsters... Thats honestly the only reason why.
If we could tie things like reputation related accounts (forums?/OTC/Bitcoin trading sites/paypal/LR/dwolla/bank accounts) with easy visability/access to rep info then I would feel much more comfortable setting up a bunch of Stuff for sale because I could quickly click on a user, goto some "rep" page, and see all the information the user has provided inregards to his reputation

Google site:bitcoinclassifieds.net city, state/country and it will find user locations. The internal search engine only scans ad contents.

Yes, there is a simple feedback system, just look at people's profiles...

I've signed my username http://www.bitcoinclassifieds.net/profile/4541/ with my PGP key tied to my rep elsewhere.

I wish the site were more localized, because the best way to dispense with escrow and the scam Bitmit turned into, is not even need a third party for F2F sales.

The site looks cool. But there must be a feature like, if someone order anything from classifieds, the funds must go to escrow, and then once the seller fulfill, it gets released, so that 0% scam Smiley.

No. I just put my PGP everywhere because I'm a freak.

As we saw in the final days of Bitmit, escrow was still scammed so badly, that it took the scammer to execute the refund.

You don't need escrow if you are doing a face to face transaction, like BC is structured for.

Well, at that time, btc price was very low. And the poster replied in btc, He should have been posted in usd. That would be cool.

But its over 6 months old, and it should have been pruned. Maybe the seller should be emailed and asked if he would like to keep his add up? I'm sure that the website is struggling to gain popularity, so they aren't going to take down any items unless they are sold. It hurts the "experience" if you are looking at items that have unrealistic prices due to being old. They have probably been sold elsewhere by now.

As soon as I saw a Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy DVD for the equivalent of ~$60, I knew the site was probably not updated for a while... That or whoever's selling it is smoking some good weed.

And yes, I did see that the price was meant to be a donation, but still.

Got that idea from NPR ("donate $$$$$ and get this $ gift"); they smoke all the weeds for me.
