The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

Delete anything besides the wallet.dat, peers.dat and faircoin.conf - that worked last time I had trouble when a wallet wouldn't synch. Just make sure not to delete the wallet.dat - or better yet, back it up somewhere on the desktop in case something goes wrong.

This should help.  I will just suggest to keep only a wallet.dat. delete all the rest.
