can someone help me? my bctcoin windows wallet is missing  Huh

Go to :C:\Users\<youraccountname>\AppData\Roaming and see if you have an EnergyCoin folder...

If you do, you should be able to simply download a new wallet and your coins will still be there...

Deleting a wallet should not affect that file...

( Inside that folder is a wallet.dat file...  that is key to everything... )

If for any reason that folder is missing you may be out of luck..

I misspoke... had EnergyCoin on my brain...  look for BctCoin in that same folder...
All those files are simple data files and 'should' not have been cleaned...

Hi,

Go to Run and type %appdata% and press enter you will be redirected to folder where you can find bctcoin folder in that copy wallet.dat to desktop and reinstall wallet once again and paste the .dat file in the same folder.

Guys once we hit Mintpal later on

PLEASE DO NOT DUMP YOUR COINS

because it will drive BCT value down.

Our community needs to stick together hold our position.

Inevitably however, there will be some dumping as weak hands try to make some quick money.

Let the few that want to sell sell, it's ok.

Just don't panic if you see the price going down a little. Once the early dumpers are gone, BCT value will bounce back with a vengeance.

Just sit back and enjoy the ride Wink  There is no rush to sell.

In a week or so you'll be glad you didn't sell your precious coins  Grin

just added my vote on Mintpal. For now BCT has 4000+ votes (or 4BTC) more than the second coin. But still I expect a close game when we approach the deadline.
Hope people won't dump it, once it starts trading on Mintpal.

Something i have always wondered about charity coins...

As they need proper currency, not crypto, the BCT must be sold for BTC which can then be converted to cash.

Surely with such a huge amount of coins, the price will be held down as these are sold or smashed down if they are sold quickly.

I'm not criticising or FUDing, just asking if that is how it will work. If it is, others may be nervous about investing.

I'm sure there will be a plan to release the coins to charities over a period of time at a rate that won't affect the price.

The best way would be to release at a % of the mining rate or at a rate agreed with the community.

As the long term price rises and investors trust the coin more and more the value of each BCT will rise and so will the amount per coin sent to charities.

A charitable foundation is the best method to do this and with community voting on the rate of distribution.

Actually very valid point.
The current working model of the charities requires conversion to fiat money (via BTC), thus price will drop at the time these coins are sold.
One can however control the amount of coins that are released to charities (as maccaspacca also noted), to counterfeit that.
This rises another question, who is going to manage charity share of coins and what policy will be chosen on when to sell these coins.

My vote would go to a charitable foundation of some kind. I'm sure once the coin gains traction bitcointalk.org could support support this, even providing independent scrutiny of it's activities. The policy on selling would depend on prevailing market conditions but I would imagine a "drip feed" approach into a BTC wallet for each charity would be best. The charity could then access the funds as needed.
