Guys, anybody can help me with my wallet please? I am still at block 0 and have 0 active connection to network Sad

Are you using v1.5.2.0 ?

Yes and this is my BTCtalkcoin.conf in the wallet folder

server=1
listen=1
rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=pass
rpcport=50554
addnode=108.61.103.155

Any problem?

I'm using v1.50 without a conf file and it's syncing. The last dev said it's OK to use v1.50.

I shuffled a bunch of coins around yesterday on v1.5 with no issues.

You see, the max supply coded is 63 561 840 coins (ref: main.h).  So far, the network has produced 62 683 254 coins (getinfo). Leaving only 878586 coins to mint.  When the max supply will be reached, in about a month --> no more rewards from minting = miners leaving = no (or very slow) network = no transactions possible = dead coin.  Unless, the miners wants to mint for nothing, which is possible.  Should be interesting...

  ppl staking worldwide should provide enough hashpower for the network, i believe

Yes but after a month there will be no coins for staking, so unless people are going to stake for 0 reward the network would die. So to keep the network running even once the stake os paying 0 people will have to leave the wallets open staking for nothing. The coin has been widely distributed though so is possible enough users will do this and keep the coin alive.

What about transaction fees, will that be a reward to people staking. Where do they usually go with PoS?

I tried using both v1.5 and v1.5.2 and waited few hours and still no luck. I even removed my conf file and it still won't work. Other wallet sync without a problem except for this wallet. Still 0 active connection to network. Anybody have a working addnode for me please?

Try resyncing after deleting your blkindex.dat, blk0001.dat, and your database folder.

It seems to me that making the total coins generated be such a low number was short sighted. That number can be changed. It should be set high enough so that people can collect their POS interest for many years. Assuming that the interest remains at 15% annually, make the number 63,000,000 * (1.15^10) = about 255,000,000 and there will be enough coins for another 10 years.

I would just delete the entire BTCtalkcoin data folder, that way you will get all the default settings which usually work fine in the newer wallets. If this is a wallet upgrade, first save the wallet.dat file in a safe place and restore it after deleting the data folder. That will restore the coin addresses and transactions. All this must be done with the wallet closed (not running).

I wouldn't create a config file because most people don't have one and it works fine. On a new install there is no config file and I would leave it that way, unless there is a specific reason for creating one.

This is my 1st POS coin

Do I just have to unlock the QT Wallet to gain the interest on the coins in the wallet?

and

What is the Maturity for BCC?

Thank you in advance..

The original post says "POS: 15% (Stake Age - Min: 1 day, Max 180 days)", so I guess you have to wait at least a day before collecting any interest. Unlock the wallet and wait. It doesn't come all at once, but rather seems to happen an a block by block basis. It takes a long time, hours or even days, to collect interest on all the blocks if there are many transactions on the wallet.

Yeah. Wait at least a day then you will get your coin coming.

This is a misunderstanding (on the part of the original dev).
The 63561840 is the maximum amount of the coins you can transfer.

The total money supply is unlimited. So with the code as it is
now, staking will go on forever.

I would just delete the whole BTCtalkcoin folder, the wallet, everything. This coin is dead everyone dev or good samaritan left days ago. Just a friendly advice.

Now that we do not have devs to direct the coin, we suggest ideas, decide and implement together.

I have a suggestion that would be a multipool with other algorithms such as X11, X13, Scrypt-Jane, Scrypt-N, Groestl, etc., beyond Sha256 and Scrypt. And I offer 100,000 Talk as bounty..

What else would you suggest to improve this coin?

Best.

If there is a team build to improve the coin I will also pay bounty.

There are now wallets with build in irc. maybe make a wallet with google auth
We need a forum/site with tipping
animations with all kinda TALK slogans

Does anyone still interested in the coin have the know-how to go through source code?

Should we fork the source and start a new ANN page?

I've been thinking about how to write a custom wallet that could enable tipping to other btctalk users, let me know if anyone has ideas...

Finally I see something positive about this coin after the crazy airdrop and the absence of dev

At least we don't have to worry about the total coin supply any more

This is a very nice idea and matches completely with the name of this coin. I do also wish we can have a custom wallet like that, hopefully can run on Android as well  Wink
