Keep in mind that the past couple difficulty periods have been about $300 a month (for my 5.7 GH/s). There's no telling what things will be like when your Single finally ships, probably in October.

Ya if you are buying at this stage you need to stay away from BFL until they clear their back log, bitfury seems way to go for now with kncminer close on it's heels with possibly marginally better stats and cost per hash rate but they are not to market yet so there could be some risk there if they have unforeseen issues and get into the death spiral that is happening to Avalon and BFL now.

this... I'll be happy if I get my October 2012 pre-orders this October... let alone my July 2013 pre-orders...  I've set my expectations at January 1, 2014 for any orders in July 2013, but that may be optimistic.  We'll see how much BFL catches up this month tho.
