I use Bitstamp. They have a very clean interface and look really legit to me. I believe they are honest businesspeople and aren't going to scam me. Do you think that it is safe to store your whole stash of BTC on their site?

It's never safe to keep your BTC on an online exchange. Remember what happened with Mt.Gox. They were, at a point, legit as well.

Keep your BTC in your own wallet. It's quite easy to get them into an exchange Wink

Yes that's right.

My advice is, to withdraw your funds on an exchange every time, you finished your trading session. It shouldn't be risky at all then.

It seems that all will be answered if you have a partner that you trust the site,, such as siblings, relatives, friends, etc ..
if there is something happening on the site we can not do anything .. just saw that BTC we have will disappear

After the BitStamp news, just whatever you do, DON"T Leave your COINS on an Exchange or ONLINE WALLET!!!!

Time and time again, it's been proven that once these centralized exchanges have issues, you're SOL.

It's time for the paradigm shift to decentralized exchanges, it's truly the only way at this point with all these wallet issues.

Maybe save in bitstamp not a good thing,, I can only advise you to move wallet ..
like coinbase, XAPO, etc ..
but XAPO recently experiencing problems ..

I possessed 0.2 BTC there if Changed to $ only $ 0.2 Cry

BTC-E is the best. Here are the reasons:

1. One of the oldest exchanges
2. Located outside the EU / US
3. Ease of deposits / withdrawals
4. Availability of other crypto-currencies
5. Right now, the largest BTC volumes.
6. Never been hacked or DDoSed.

+1 for BTC-E, been using them for a long time and they have never let me down.

Plus, I remember them having a bit higher-than-standard trading fees.

Plus, I remember them having a bit higher-than-standard trading fees.

Their FAQ page (https://btc-e.com/page/2) states a trading fee of 0.2% regardless of your trading volume, so it is not that bad.
For comparison, Kraken (https://www.kraken.com/help/fees-and-pair-info#XXBTZUSD) charges a 0.35% if your volume is low.

compare that with okcoin futures -- 0.015% on each side of the trade. unless that's changed, and i don't think it has. plus, i think there are maker/taker considerations.

korbit or coinplug... There was one seller who sold bitcoin over bank transfer on localbitcoins, but he stopped using localbitcoins, so no other choice.
