I just recived an email and text that my account had suspicious activity. Great right, they protected my account?

No! I checked my account activity and its been accessed 8 times from other countries in the last 30days!

Good thing it's just a dummy email account.

Great security Microsoft!  Huh

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

A friend of mine recently had his account accessed from various places and his password reset. Took him weeks to get control of his account back.

I stopped using Hotmail since Gmail introduced 2FA.

I stopped once I was invited to Gmail before it was released.

The lapse in security was almost certainly on your end. If they have your email password then I'd be careful with your coins and make sure your comp is safe.

I use Outlook which is another email service by Microsoft, and I have never received suspicious activity.

Isn't Outlook just the renamed Hotmail?

IMO outlook sucks. When you log in it can take minutes before you can even open the mails, or well, do anything at all.
I'm not a fan of using google stuff either, but at least Gmail doesn't take minutes to work.

BTW, as hilariousandco said, the security problem was probably on your end, not on Microsofts.

My gmail was hacked once in the past, got it resolved very quickly and never happened again. That was back before they had 2FA.

I wouldn't be so confident that Microsoft doesn't scan emails.

Hotmail's spying. End of the story.

No signature ad here, because their conditions have become annoying.

Happened to me too, they changed password and secondary email recovery option - BUT forgot to change the SMS recovery option.

Now happily on 2FA for most of my gmail accounts.

There was a time when I can access Hotmail via Outlook Express IMAP. When they stopped it, I stopped using them. I used yahoo for a bit, then switched over to gmail. I liked gmail when I first started using it because of the 1G mail storage while everyone else was at 100M or so.

I'm major on security which is why each email has a unique long password. I blame MS, I never used that email nor log in to check it,  everything was forwarded.

Yeah, but long passwords won't mean shit for keyloggers. It's weird then. I can't see how it was a lapse on hotmail's end. There must've been someplace or somehow you slipped up.
