Totally understand. I would look at Dwolla, you can sign up with them and then sell your BTC on the MT. Gox exchange and transfer the money to Dwolla and then to your bank account.

not really, without trusting someone to broker the transaction or doing it through an exchange yourself. If you use the exchange, it'll take a week or two to get the money into your bank account.
