How to define datadir from PHP JSON RPC

I want to know how to define datadir on bitcoind from PHP JSON RPC ?

Code:

bitcoind -datadir=$HOME/.bitcoin

I tried like this but no result:

$bitcoin->datadir = "$HOME/.bitcoin";

But no result
