I knew what I was sending money to. I knew that there would be nothing tangible until October-ish.
What if it takes years to develop ?
I would be impressed that their estimates were so far off of the mark. But I read their forums and don't think it will be years...
What if a competitor release its product before ?
There is actually a thread where they have a list of projects similar in nature to theirs...nothing quite as comprehensive is in the works (that is known, admittedly) and nothing on their timeline. Could happen though but I'm not seeing it.
What if competitors are better ?
Then we still get a decentralized internet.
Have you considered the fact having money frozen for unknown duration is like losing money ?
Not a day trader and interest from a bank account is negligible...
Look...I like the project. I sent a modest amount. I would like to see that back but the thing that doesn't change is that I like the project. People invest for many different reasons and sometimes it's to see good people do good things. I didn't invest my life savings and if they stopped everything right now I would not suffer at all for losing it. But if it works, not only do I get to play with something really cool, I could see a decent ROI. Risk vs reward is in my favor here, in my opinion.
