Hello everybody. Im from Norway. I spent a lot of time and money buying a lot of DMD 1 week s ago. I bought it when it was around 11, Everyone told me that it will increase, but... Now it`s almost 8... I got almost 4000 DMD, but you know...  Huh Huh Huh Maybe someone could give me fast advices? It would be great... Kiss Kiss

  `

if u choose DMD longterm average down is the correct tactic

https://www.thebalance.com/averaging-down-good-idea-or-foolish-risk-3140535

if u did just jump in for a quick gain
face the fact that its called risc vs reward
and not guranteed free money

in my opinion even as a shortterm trader i would not sell
instead i would start run POS with the coins
this way u keep earning a income until price is above ur buy price and
then u can decide to sell without loss + POS gains
or the weeks enjoy POS income did teach ya already sell is a bad idea at all

its not a loss until u finalize the loss by sell

4000 DMD split into 20 blocks of 200 DMD each should give a decent POS return after a few weeks. Be smart, don't sell  Cheesy

like 15 DMD a week
while ya wait til markets recover
then u can reconsider if u want to sell not with a loss but with a gain
or u just keep earning via POS

hopefully price will bottom out soon, with almost half of all DMD locked away in masternodes i thought this would really help sustain the price....i guess there were alot more speculators around the 3.0 release than i thought

$10/dmd was really nice when it lasted...

My impression is that this downward trend is not caused by speculators, but by master nodes who sell some of their earnings.
As soon as we reach phase 2 of DMD v3 coin distribution it will be much harder go get any serious amount of DMD.

That would be a paradox; the ones who have more invested in this coin are also the ones drowning it? I believe masternode owners are the prime stakeholders and therefore the ones who have more to gain from a higher price.

I can only speak for myself; I own a masternode and I'm nor selling a single DMD!

The block reward will be reduced DRASTICALLY over the next 2.5 years.
At block 115,200 (5mo), it starts a decline of 500% over an ~2yr period.
The price will drop even further over that time due to decreasing rewards and cost of initial entry with marginal returns.
Knowing this is key to developing a profitable strategy.

I could be also the different way, if the coin reward is lower, the price will rise because of the limited quantity of coins (not locked)

then we would make something wrong

high inflation is never supporting a lasting raise of value

the opposite is true

DASH MN have a ROI of 5%

does it looks like it turned bad for DASH because of that?

i expect DMD price raise with decreasing reward and decreasing sellpressure

the hardening of constant decreasing inflation will in fact start the true raise of DMD

together with release of services and apps that utilize DMD 2019/2020

the goal of DMD must be that people like they do now with BTC want to gather DMD even with zero incomestream attached to it

and then add of top the incomestream as bonus

coins create coins can not be solo purpose of a coin
it can just be a added goodie on top of a solid coin with a longterm viable coin rollout plan
and a active and living ecosystem build around it

What are you doing to help improve the situation? We all have a role to play! We cannot just sit and wait for the price to rise, that's not how the world works.

Get the word out, put a logo in your blog, talk to your friends about it, show it to your family, make a real contribution instead of just complaining here.

Sorry for my bitterness, but I've been here for some years and I'm sick of people bitchin about the price and waiting for others to make their investment profitable.

DMD, like so many other things in live, is an opus ensemble  Wink

Why in the hell would you promise positive returns to investors?  That makes no sense at all.  Are you in control of the market?

Investors will have what they expect..., over time.
Two weeks?!
There are people here that did take care of this coin for past three years, with patience and time.
They planted the olive tree,...
they cared for it,...
protected it from the weather,
now that the harvest is a bit late, you complain of not being able to have the oil...
After two weeks?!
Patience and time...
olive tree is hard to grow

Is there a compiled qt wallet for RasPi by now? Or instructions how to compile it yourself? I found the instructions for compiling a headless wallet, but I would prefer the QT wallet with GUI...

Yeah, don't do that. GUI on the Pi is annoying and pitifully slow.
There are pre-built binaries for Raspbian here, or, you can build them using the "depends" framework in the source tree.

sry...I know that coins are going up and down but I just don't understand what is happening right now. I am not panicking or the like, but I would just like to understand what is going on. Why the sudden drop? There must be a reason that I don't see as I am probably not deep enough in the crypto space. But I have been a dmd supporter since 2014. Maybe someone can clarify? Thanks.

Thanks for the info. I was trying to put DMD v3 onto the latest version of RokOS, but that is Ubuntu-based, not Debian. Would the precompiled binaries still work, or do I have to compile myself then?

If i had to guess I would say it's because people are selling off DMD for BTC for the coming fork of bitcoin gold in order to get that free coin. It makes sense because so many other altcoins have had the same price movement.

What concerns me is that the number of masternodes are growing not increasing, so that may mean that the only people who sold off their DMD were stakers. It couple be more profitable for someone with 10k dmd to just stake now insteadt of run a masternode.

One thing thats important to remember is that dmd is up like 300% this year vs btc, i think it started 2017 at around 15-20ksats. So even at 126k sats its still WAY up.

Some other things to note is that DMD is only really traded on one exchange, if we get more exchanges then more investors could flow in. Another thing is that the market cap is only 16mil, compare that maybe to PIVX which is like 200mil?? Alot of room to grow

more DMD sold then bought
means price go down

more DMD bought then sold
means price go up

i dont think more to explain here
that there is some altcoin -> btc
and later btc -> altcoin stream of value
was always one of the tidal forces in the market

i see absolute nothing special in this situation

beside the opportunity to pick up some more DMD and average down cost per DMD
this way increase future earnings
