we are totally confused about your thread you need to clear us ! That is the whole point of decentralization. You dont have to know everything. It is better if you don't really. Just pieces of information from which you can build greater image

What kind of decentralization ? Please explain. As for bitcointalk.org There are 2 admin's (theymos and justmoon) Domain is owned by Sirius Forum and database is only accessible by theymos Forum and database, both are hosted separately. There are around 10-15 mods. There are around 6-7 Forum Treasurers, 7 Community council members.

This forum seems about as libertarian and 'hands off' as forums get, but there's always going to be some moderation or mediation needed. Sometimes I don't think there's enough intervention on here but I also hold the view that people should be censored as little as possible.

Maybe one could be built on a blockchain.
Something like bitmessage is ofcource possible but with all that spam etc..I am wondering what will be the blockchain size because there will be 0 moderation and no one will be able to remove their post/topics.

There are different levels of decentralization. It's not a question of luck to find a significantly more decentralised forum, it is a question ot time.

Darknet will soon have decentralized "everything" using dark market. Even servers like Silk Road will be decentralized. Content will be distributed on users and vendors computers instead of a server. This includes forums and others typical server platforms. Amir Taaki is working on the project. "DarkMarket is an open source marketplace technology which utilizes every user—both vendors and customers—to host product pages, messenger pages, and the market as a whole."This article describes it fairly well. http://www.dailydot.com/crime/dark-market-deep-web/

Time to innovate maybe, I guess the best way to go is p2p as the blockchain might not handle the amount of message and the way a forum works, I think there should be an open source for a p2p solution, but till then ^^ my home is obvious

@AbrahamAltcoin #Nxt could be used as a platform for such a forum. I'm going to develop my own forum soft. Will take some time though... Looks like he is creating his own forum. I have high hopes.

Decentralized community is too utopian. Good luck finding one.
It sounds like the complete opposite to me - total anarchy. Exactly..I'm tired of seeing all this "decentralization" crap. In one way or another, everything is "centralized", we have the laws of physics etc etc, aren't we forced to obey them? A forum that isn't moderated is total anarchy and will fail/succumb to trolls and hackers and scammers. OP is delusional.

Why can't we have a true democracy? Power to the people. If trolls/hackers/scammers are a minority then a system can easily be set up to discourage them and even make it impractical. Don't let Hollywood movies fool you into thinking Anarchy = chaos. This simply isn't true. Methods such as rating systems, history filters, micropayments and voting committees will weed out the weak *bad* users and make it difficult for the ones that persist. Regarding the 'everything is "centralized"' statement, that's not true. When everyone involved in the system has the ability to contribute equally to the system (in one way or another) this then creates a decentralised system, how again does that make it centralised? Over time, it would make sense that people will start to have more influence than others but that is natural selection and leadership. This is true decentralisation and democracy, when it is the choice of the people and not forced upon them.

It would be difficult to find anything, either offline or online, that is truly decentralized. Even that group called Anonymous has leaders, or used to until they stumbled and got caught. If you don't moderate a forum, it descends into chaos and generally everybody who wants to not associate with trolls and scammers/spammers tend to abandon it, and then it never really recovers even when you start moderating it again -- which tends to make the trolls and the scammers/spammers mad at you when they can't hate on each other. Why not hang around?
