Hi,
I'm helping the launch of a crowdfunding campaign (here - > https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/stalactite-3d-hd-printer--2/x/7225600#home) .

I want to accept BTC but I didn't find any reliable services.

Should I do it manually?  Thant just sucks.

Coinfunder is dead.

Try bitcoinstarter.com .But due to bitcoin not being fully mainstream yet your project might struggle to get funding.

And if you are wondering if the site is legit, then yes it is.

I would go with bitcoinstarter if you are looking for something to help take donations for a crowd funding campaign. I think it's great that you are starting something like this out with bitcoins as it's another positive that can be added to a long list of positives involving bitcoins. It may take a while to completely hit off but if someone is willing to do it, it can only go further within time.

Not sure if you found what your looking for but I thought it is worth mention that posting a thread in the services section for someone to help you may be a good idea.  Not only that but you could have people competing for the job and the price you pay may not be much.  I think it's worth trying if your willing to pay someone you may score a deal.

There's plenty of kickstarter clones that accept BTC, but they've all looked and acted rather shabby and none of them have had the same feel as a successful site such as indiegogo or kickstarter. A lot of that is because they fail to provide utilities for project updates, proper reward mechanisms, etc. That's why they're basically all dead.

I don't think crowdfunding is a model that'll ever really work too well with Bitcoin, at least not in the foreseeable future. Volatility might either massively enrich the proposer by the time it comes to fruition thus enraging the funders, or if it goes in the other direction they won't be able to buy the pot they need to piss. Either way someone's losing out. And that's before we even get to the potential for scamminess.

You are right there in that that's a part of it, though I believe the fact that every kickstarter clone that has come up that has accepted BTC so far has looked like it has been made in 30 seconds by some cheap outsourcing company. There's plenty of ways to get around volatility, for instance using a payment processor to convert to USD. It cheapens it a bit, but it'd work.
