Monero has a dice game now (outside IRC).
(cross-posted from the ANN)
I wrote a laudative article about cryptocoins-dice.com. Not sponsored of course, everything is my very own opinion, untainted.

Bet on Monero!

I also made the necessary arrangements to check the identity of Bobbax. We agreed I would keep those information to myself but I can assure you the site is legit (still, only invest what you can afford to lose). If you are wondering if my opinion is worth something, you can always check my reputation thread on my sig.

Excerpts from my article:
Quote
Bobbax decided to "sit on the shoulder of giants" and reuse what works elsewere.

So, on top of the usual (for cryptos) 1% house hedge, the site sports plenty of keyboard shortcuts to play the popular martingale-style without the mouse (C to double bet on loss, X to halve bet once won, H and L to play high or low and plenty of other shortcut). Inspiration here is clearly just-dice.

But CCD goes further and borrows one great idea from primedice: an in-browser bot. Longtime just-dice players know about the fantastically powerful Seuntje's bot (a Windows application). Without being that powerful, CCD's in-browser bot is much stronger than the primedice one. For start, it can be used with keyboard shortcuts too (B to start playing). Second, it offers "cut losses" and "take profit" options on top of the regular "max bets" and "actions on win"/"actions on loss". And it also has some useful stats (stats are your friend when bot-martingaling). Oh, one more thing™: the bot is fast! I mean, really fast. Just-dice greatly reduces the speed of playing with a bot by introducing quite a large delay. primedice's bot is just anemic and the whole interface is heavy on load. On the contrary, CCD's bot is just fast. Do not worry though: if you want to keep it to a humanly manageable level, you can introduce an artificial delay (500 ms between bets as default).

Investment is really simple. You deposit money on your account (like for just-dice, you can avoid keeping an account but then it means you rely solely on cookies to keep your money - I don't recommend it). Once the money is deposited, you go to the "my invest" tab and deposit what you want. The site will take 10% of your investment profit when you divest, that's all. Exactly like just-dice. And of course, you can invest on all the currencies, not just one.

Like several chats (including the famous Poloniex trollbox), CCD has protips. They will surely grow in variety with time. The chat also has plenty of command line options (use /help for a list, 17 for the moment). One exclusive thing that I instantly appreciated about the chat is the "character count". A dynamic "progress bar" shows you how far you are from hitting the limit. This is something that frustrates me immensely on Poloniex: text getting truncated without notice (at least you can see it before submitting, but still). With the awesome "progress bar", no more surprise anymore Smiley

The domain have a DNS anti-poisoning protection, an anti-cybersquatting measure and the DNS is shared on 19 geographical positions. The server is DDoS protected and uses 3 Mitigation Multi-point in case of an attack. On top of it, the site allows to use 2FA and has a cold wallet.

Ironically the current bear market in Bitcoin is giving the Monero project much needed time for the database development. For this reason a bear market in Bitcoin until the database in completed suites me just fine.

I've had the same thoughts exactly. If bitcoin were booming now with 100 million users, and XMR were still in the alpha stages, then XMR would be getting seriously left behind. In addition, the emission is high right now, so it would be difficult for XMR to maintain a high value over time even if XMR were initially pulled up by bitcoin's boom. Thus, the situation now is perfect.
Yep.  A reprieve that I may continue to accumulate.   All is well.

Tippero has just learned Blackjack!

Those of you who like card game may relish the prospects of playing casino blackjack in #tippero, or directly one on one with tippero.

And as for the dice game, Tippero's blackjack is also provably fair with full details availaible via !fair.

This is a fairly complete blackjack game. Resplit to 4, blackjack pays the full 3:2. A number of side bets are also available. Insurance available when the dealer's upcard is an ace. See more details with !help blackjack and !commands blackjack

Basic game:
!blackjack 0.1

Side bets (list available with !sidebets):
!blackjack 0.1 over13 buster

You'll play a normal Blackjack game, with the side bets over13 (bet the sum of your first two cards scores over 13), and buster (bet that the dealer busts - the more cards it takes, the higher your payout!)

Side games are independent from the main game. If you lose a side bet, you still play the blackjack hand normally. See the list of available side bets with !sidebets.

Blackjack house edge is around half a percent. It might be between 0.4% and 0.6% Smiley

How many of you know the Monero community has its own DJ?

http://www.mixcloud.com/Vanderi/monero-mixxives-1-2015-winter-colours/

Fantastic work by Vanderi. Check it out!
I concur, Vanderi entertains us with great music for months. And you will notice the title reflect the current events at time (like fhe "FUD fuck")

Monero mixxives

Sharing them is a great way to increase the visibility of the Monero brand.

Yes, in the same way it bugs me that we are nominally so much behind the original online development schedule in CK. But we are getting more, and getting it very solid, and meanwhile we are also getting a very solid economic engine ("subgame API") as well as the technical "sandbox API".

When this baby booms, it booms for real.  Cool

We're trying to get a community wide minimum mixin level of 3, correct?

I think the community should start petitioning the major exchanges to modify their withdrawal function. To have to go through an intermediary mymonero wallet is... ridiculous.

So, I put forward the following proposition for the XMR community - goto your XMR exchange, find the contact info section, email them requesting a change in the mixin level for withdrawals

< Track your bitcoins! > < Track them again! > <<< [url=https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1qomqt/what_a_landmark_legal_case_from_mid1700s_scotland/] What is fungibility? >>> 46P88uZ4edEgsk7iKQUGu2FUDYcdHm2HtLFiGLp1inG4e4f9PTb4mbHWYWFZGYUeQidJ8hFym2WUmWc p34X8HHmFS2LXJkf <<< Free subdomains at moneroworld.com!! >>> <<< If you don't want to run your own node, point your wallet to node.moneroworld.com, and get connected to a random node! @@@@ FUCK ALL THE PROFITEERS! Nice suggestion.

AFAIK you don't have to use an intermediary wallet. I think that if you just have to resend them to yourself. Which is kind of ridiculous anyway but its a little simpler.

well, if you do that, whats the point?

exchange --- (low mix) ---> your address ---- (high mix) ----> your same address...

there's already an easily traceable link to your primary address. All you've done is given tx fees to miners. Which is great for miners.
