I imported the missives on xmrmonero.com. This allowed me to validate the tagging system.
https://xmrmonero.com/tags/monday-monero-missives

They are also present in the news sections - news differs from blogs in that the latter is for random monero-related news by MEW members, whilst the former is more official.

On other news: 1000 pages is a milestone! 20K posts and probably among the highest signal-to-noise ratio.

Go Monero!

Monero: the first crytocurrency to bring bank secrecy and net neutrality to the blockchain.HyperStake: pushing the limits of staking.

I don't know if Aste has anything to do with them. For the sake of his otherwise good (as far as I know) reputation, I hope not.

I guess we're going to find out on the 30th.  Better have the hot air popper loaded and ready for action!

Anybody here attending P2PFISY?  We may have some suggestions for Saberhagen's CryptoNote v2.0 Q&A...   Grin

Has anyone offered a bounty for a vid of this saberhagen guys' speech? anyone here able to attend? this shit just got real!

As far as I can there will be no one named Saberhagen or whatever at this conference.  Tomaso Aste will discuss the paper bearing that name.  The cryptonote website slightly misrepresents the truth saying
Quote
"On January 30th the inspirer and one of the creators of the CryptoNote open-source technology and cryptocurrency platform Nicolas van Saberhagen is to take a stand at P2P Financial Systems International Workshop in Frankfurt, Germany."
there.

So i registered monero.gr domain and since i had nothing to do with it i thought i should make MoneroLinks, a wiki page with all the bookmarks i had and some i searched afterwards...It is far from complete.

Now i guess this is already obsolete since we have https://xmrmonero.com and a wiki but even if someone finds something he didnt know or if it helps him save 5min well it worth the time spent. Feel free to copy paste anything! In any case i gained a lot since i think i just doubled my html, apache, mediawiki and domain/dns registering skills Tongue  (yeah i am noob)

My small token for monero's 1000th page!

P.S. yeah i probably need a logo for MoneroLinks

We should link xmrmonero.com on  monero.cc and in the first post of this thread. No one will find it otherwise. Everything gets buried in this 1000 page thread.

What are some marketplaces that accept monero? Supposedly you are working with i2p. There are sites accepting XMR now? I dont know how to use i2p yet so havent checked.

There are very few sites accepting XMR. Other than exchanges https://www.cryptocoins-dice.com/ is the only one I know about.

i2p is not integrated yet.

Now physical Moneros and Bitcoins can be also purchased for XMR at:

You could also just simply forward monero.gr to xmrmonero.com, just a suggestion. If people from Greece land on the monero.gr site they will instantly be directed to a site full of content (maybe someone could even translate some of the content of xmrmonero to greek).

Not sure about android wallet, but you can always use https://mymonero.com, it has adaptive markup so that it look great on mobile devices.

That's an issue with v0.8.6.6. I've heard that it's been corrected in the main repo on github (which isn't too hard to build from source on windows following the instructions). The other option is to update the deprecated wallet using v0.8.6.4 I think, then it will work in the latest version. I have a copy of new binaries built from the github repo (v0.8.6.7 I think) where the issue should be corrected, if you'd like to try to use them you can download here: https://mega.co.nz/#!aUhwiL6T!VnszNGRJ2-3zcWFxYwiMQO9zc8EeoHNMjAfReuFDtaY

I'm not sure if those binaries at mega will work on your comp. I tried to share some binaries of the database build for windows, and it seemed like they didn't work on anyone's comp but my own, but since the ones linked above don't include database, maybe they will.

Job Advertisement
Preface
You love Monero deeply. Out of true bellief, you began helping to spread the word about The Monero Project, by telling your real life friends & colleagues and contributing high quality content, in all your Monero- and Crypto Currency-related postings and other statements online. Naturally you donated very generously to the Monero development fund. So far, so good.

You'll also understand, the project's core purpose and focus of building a new, innovative payment system (& major potential of further improvements) is strongly depending, if the project can maintain it's efficient organizational structure.
That allows to profit as much as possible from user integration in the development process. And is needed to build and deploy the Monero network, which is depending on the success of it's own Free Software Project and the establishment of it's open network and the technology infostructure.

What's needed? The Monero Culture!
The Monero culture is a contemporary culture which represents a technology-based extension of the DIY culture. It can be described as:
- intelligent & proactive network of users
- a project culture of big community contributions to the design, development, deployment and improvement cycles
- members independently cooperate and work together developing the project further
- mindset of building the ecosystem and services around Monero together

Your chance
Now you desire to take the logical next step: You are interested to help the project by contributing your manpower. But as non software developer, there are not many opportunities.
Here is on your chance to help the Monero ecosystem and community to grow and prosper. Because actions speak louder than words.

About the job
We search editorial staff for a private new webpage, that host many different Monero community resources. This site is a independent community member project. We hope to offer a useful service, that is a (small) effort towards efficient knowledge management, inside The Monero Project, by creating synergies and avoid work duplication (e.g. information seeking). Our site is and will always stay ad-free, as it's obvious an non-profit effort. We need your support. Apply, if you you qualify!

I won't disclose the projects URL now, because the site is currently unfinished. URL will be disclosed via PM, to everyone interested. Site is strongly coordinated with Monero core team. David Latapie and fluffypony both have write access to web page repository.
It's a true, democratic community project. The site will stay online (and hopefully active), even if I would have to leave community (e.g. jail, accident, death).

Required
- github.com account
- clean scene history (no scams, no strong support of shady altcoins, ...)
- basic HTML & CSS skills
- at least 3 hours weekly time available to work on this job

Preferred
- you chat regularly on Freenode IRC network
(so Monero devs and I can easily directly speak to you)
- good English skills

Contact
PM me.

The other option is to update the deprecated wallet using v0.8.6.4 I think, then it will work in the latest version. hey thanks, i appreciate the info and effort. if its a known bug, then thats cool. i can wait for the fix. but if i get desperate, i'll try yours.
