Can someone explain Tether USD to me? I see it on POLO now so I'm wondering if it's easier/safer/faster for buying xmr with fiat?

Waiting 4 days for coinbase and then transferring to polo then buying is just a real pita.

Any other alternatives without buying private with escrow?

Looking for the easiest fastest and of course safe way to buy. What are you guys using now?

Coinbase is in big brothers pocket now.

If I want to help test the LMDB changes, is the best repo still: https://github.com/tewinget/bitmonero/tree/blockchain ?

Checking it out.  Does it keep records for the US PoliceState?

Not that I wash money (I have so little anyway) But I abhor being spied on and feel the freedoms my ancestors died for are gone and I will fight that until the day I die any way I can.

KYC laws still apply. But once you've cashed into xmr, you're the boss of your privacy.

I registered with https://www.kraken.com/ today but they have different levels of KYC. You must do PayCash SEPA or PayCash SWIFT.

TED talk that has connected with me.

Also, for me, connects with Monero.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qp0HIF3SfI4#t=14

(18 minutes)

I finally watched this. Thank you, Ginger, for the link. It has also connected with me and both Sinek's "Golden Circle" as well as the "Law of Diffusion of Innovation" are very pertinent to Monero.

I would highly recommend that the Devs and all Monero Early Adopters watch the video.
I believe that the Devs are doing their thing the right way, according to the premise that people will get onboard with Monero not because it is secure, private, and untraceable; but because they believe in the tenets of security, privacy, and personal liberty.

Is there a time they talk xmr? TED talks bore the living shit out of me even when I care about the content.

I've been running bitmonerod.exe on a win8.1 box and just noticed it is using 6GB or ram, I only have 8GB ram on that system so either I need to add more ram or is there a way to control how much ram daemon can use?

very cool yes, worth watching. i think many of us are here because of the "why". it just feels right Grin
fck the money.

but also, moneros are no flatscreens. so things are slightly different

Listened to the first 2 minutes of the same bullshit they always start with. Jumped to 7 minutes still a load of crap. So what time is the meat?

not sure monero is different to a flatscreen in that regard: many people are emotionally attached to a coin, just because they have spent time, work and money on it.

to get them to do that it seems a good way to try to transmit the "why".
this is my try at it (my actual believes btw):
 - i believe in equal rights for every human.
 - monetary freedom needs anonymity.
 - monero offers sound money for everybody at equal terms

Looks like we're heading for a new "ATH"? The price shows strong bullish signs. Smiley

Just made new yearly high at 0.002

495 BTC buy orders on Poloniex almost all of them are 60 - 70 BTC chunks

EDIT: Misread the chart - I am wrong on the chunkage.

I really want this to go up now. I think XMR is all that Bitcoin is lacking. Being on an ATH route right now witnesses a brand new future after the remaining fixes are incorporated into the binaries. Nice!!!
