I've acquired more the last couple of weeks nearly doubling my stash. I have a tech question for you guys though. How much memory is required for monerod.exe not having to use VM from the hdd? It seems that 8Gb is not enough... Could someone share the knowledge?
Thanks
On GNU/Linux (Kubuntu 14.04) bitmonerod takes 6,263,272 K so 8GB should be enough barely. On Win 8.1, bitmonerod is using 5850 MB on my system at the moment. Thanks guys. Looks like I'm going for a 16Gb upgrade. I'm running this on a VM with win7/64bit so I guess things are slow just because of that. 16GB FTW 16GB is today what 4MB was on a 486. Crucial. And that was before Crucial existed.

I wonder if they will just cancel all those old Bids and Offers. (?) I think we can safely deduce that the coins with a change in the last 24 hours are being traded, so those markets are open.

Cool being able to put current devs with past events-- nice write-up. What happened to rethink-your-strategy? I love a good criticism infused with fuck-blasts.

I'm pretty sure he wasn't so much interested in any of the coins involved, and just wanted to offer an outside perspective on the scam. Actually I think i remember reading something along those lines in the writeup.

Maybe he's busy with a write-up for some other currency.

or you wait till the DB implentation is done which uses way less RAM The DB implementation has been working on Linux for a long time now, and I can assure you it's been pretty stable for me. Those running Windows could set up a VM with as low as 256MB of RAM (I'm almost confident that's enough) , install Ubuntu 14.04 Server 64-bit on it (or your preferred distro) and compile the code from https://github.com/tewinget/bitmonero/tree/blockchain

Yeah, well it isn't XMR you are risking when you are trying to buy it, it's BTC you are risking. No Risk = No Reward So, I risked a little BTC. The XMR Market is still closed, anyway.

The digests are getting better and better! I know find some gems in them (even though I read everything).
It would be interesting to have the new forum in it too. It certainly is harder, and time is limited, but let's just consider.
