Monero’s Multisignature Implementation Officially Enters Testing Phase

In the world of cryptocurrencies, it is somewhat surprising to see so few currencies benefiting from multisignature technology. Bitcoin has had this feature for as long as most people can remember. In the case of Monero, however, the developers had to start from scratch due to the very different infrastructure they are working with. This explains why this solution has been in development for so long. There is still no official mainnet release date at this time, though, as there is still a lot of work to be done in this regard.

To put things into perspective, some changes have been made to the Github repo for Monero’s multisig development. Until two days ago, they had the “DO NOT MERGE” tag associated with them. That indicated the developers were far from having a working product. All of a sudden, however, this tag was removed, which seems to indicate a lot of progress has been made. Moreover, Moneromoo – the person responsible for the multisig implementation – has asked the community on IRC to test and review this implementation in the near future.........

Last time I tried to send from monerujo wallet, it didn't recognize the integrated address.
Not being able to send to integrated addresses is almost a deal killer, for me.  Sometimes you have no other option but to use an integrated address; some exchanges only provide integrated addresses for deposits, for example.
Is there a way to take an integrated address and break it down into an ordinary address and payment ID?

You can split an integrated address into standard address + 16-char payment ID using the "Check Address" tool in https://xmr.llcoins.net/addresstests.html.

You can put this 16-char payment ID into the "Payment ID" field of the transfer screen of Monerujo. I haven't tested it since I don't own any Android device, but I believe it should work. Test it first with some tiny amount.

Hello,

I wanto to start mining XMR for a couple of weeks and see how it goes. Did some research and stumbled across so many miners (sgminer-gm, wolf miner, xmr-stack xx, claymore, ...) and pools, I got so confused that I almost gave up. I don't know which tool is deprecated, which new, which is performing better with "modern" or not-so-old hardware.

So I realized it would be better to ask someone expert to avoid wasting days of unprofitable or not optimized mining.

Could anyone suggest me the optimal miner and/or the configuration very briefly for the devices below?

I'm not completely new to mining so I need just some heads up for november 2017 tools.

(a) 1 linux servers with "Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2690 v2 @ 3.00GHz"

there is currently cpuminer-opt (https://github.com/JayDDee/cpuminer-opt) at work pointing at pool "http://minexmr.com/"

(b) 1 linux servers with "Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1245 v5 @ 3.50GHz"

here too, there is currently cpuminer-opt (https://github.com/JayDDee/cpuminer-opt) at work pointing at pool "http://minexmr.com/"

(c) 1 pc with "Intel i5-4690" and Windows 10 64 (no GPU)

(d) 1 pc with "Intel i5-4670" and Windows 10 64 (no GPU)

(e) 1 pc with (CPU) "Intel i5-750 2.66GHz oc 3.20GHz" and (GPU) "AMD R9 270X". Which miner? Are Catalyst 15.12 still a must?

Thank you.

Probably best to open a new thread on r/moneromining. You'll get more and (probably) better responses there.

Today was the day to renew my VPN subscription. I used to pay for it with bitcoin but I dont have any bitcoin any more. So I was weighing to use a credit card or go through the hassle of converting some XMR on an exchange just to pay 60 bucks when low and behold I see Monero is accepted! I expected that I could go searching for a vpn that accepts monero and find it but I didn't expect to go and look at the one that I'm already using and see it as an accepted payment method.

Anyway AIRVpn is highly recommended by me. Ill edit back later on how smoothly the Monero transaction goes. Excited to make my first real purchase.

*edit* So the transaction was fast and easy and pretty straitforward. It was only a little confusing because their own interface had something called a transaction ID so basically it provided 2 different transaction ID's on the check out. I deployed a little bit of common sense to make an educated guess as to which one was the transaction ID that I needed to enter into my client and which one I just needed to keep for my records. I guessed correctly.

Failing that,  XMR.to is convenient for paying BTC.

Monero seems extremely undervalued and they're going to implement zkstarks, right? I would thinl people would use this over BTC so people can't see how many money you have.

I checked out the tool you linked to.
According to one of the answers at this stackexchange discussion, the payment ID extracted from the integrated address needs to be right-padded with zeros to make it the same length as a standard payment ID
https://monero.stackexchange.com/questions/1892/how-to-unpack-a-monero-integrated-address-using-the-command-line/1893
Maybe I'll test it, though I'm inclined to just keep using the cli wallet and wait for the monerujo devs to add integrated addresses.
Thanks.

I believe padding with zeros to be unnecessary. The wallet library that Monerujo uses should be sufficiently up-to-date such that it can handle both the long and short forms of payment IDs. Generally you should prefer the short one because it gets encrypted before going to the blockchain; if you use the long one with zero padding, everyone can see your payment ID unencrypted on the blockchain every time you deposit funds to the exchange.

Anyway, make sure to test once with some tiny amount.

Interesting, keep my eye on

XMR top 9 base on marketcap but was able to reach $100. It is the cryptocurrency in silent mode but have a big achievement. Unlike bitcoin, ethereum, litecoin and dash which are well known. Considering only 3 out of 4 reach the $100. That's why I'm also focusing on ethereum gold.

Based on a confidential research Ethereum Gold (ETG) is expected to increase by 200% from it's current value this November 2017. And may unbelievably explode to an all time high increase of 2,500% by December 2017

Details are not disclosed.

Anyway we can monitor it here:

Monero is a strong coin! But pay attention to how much it affects bitcoin. Since May, the place of the coin grew well, but after the bitcoin jump, it was the first collapse! And therefore you should not rely heavily on her! At the moment, it has fallen very much and will not rise lately))) And in general, it is very good to run polo)))

I added Monero to the Cheddur app (https://www.cheddur.com/). This will allow new users to learn about Monero and join the community. Cheddur allows you to link addresses, wallets, exchanges, and other services that support Monero so that new users can easily get started. Can others from the community please review the profile for quality and help me add supported services?

i really can't believe how much the monero has reached in value. and of cource i do not have a good portofolio of XMR  Cry

If you have BTC then Monero is right now perfect fr you to buy. When highest was over 0.03 now is closer to 0.01 so 3 times cheaper.  You seems to had not missed anything since now and maybe few weeks more you will have best chance to still get cheap Moneroj.  But what may happen is this might be the last chance.

The price may still be pending fork

You must be using shitty exchanges.

Is that set in stone? I can't see that happening until like Zksnarks it's fully understood by our Dev cryptographers.

sources?

Shilling,

welcome to ignore

During the BTC bubble it has not lost much value and has held steady in USD terms. that proves it is becoming decoupled from BTC and is tied to USD. We shall see if that stays or not but I think it represents the flkoor in USD terms but will rise or lower in BTC terms with a Higher Up than downside from that should be the top of btc bubble for awhile and bottom of xmr/btc. Well thats the way I read it anyway. Smiley
