Agreed. However, they would not ban bitcoin and they might ban Monero because transactions cannot be traced. The government can use the terrorist funding storyboard on it and order exchanges to delist it.

Also, the government controls the banks and the exchanges need banking partners. I reckon the cat and mouse game is only beginning.

I'm using the following guide in order to setup a monero node on my computer:

I am on step 4 and when I run

I'm not sure how to fix either of these issues, does anybody know how I am supposed to move forward from here? I am so lost!

Do you need to run it as a service? First check if the daemon launches alright and syncs with the network, by just running monerod in a separate console or screen. Make sure you do this on an SSD and you have at least 100GB free.

They are correct. The other image, it is impossible for it to have the wrong date and time because this was from my Android phone. The administrator clearly fixed the problem after 15 minutes. He saw my post hehehehe.

 i have wallet gui 17.1 ive sent funds from it before but this time  they seem to be stuck waiting confirmation 4 days the amount im sending is 0.099568860385  to bittrex exchange  ive sent  less than that before so am not sure what the problem is wallet is in simple mode

does this happen because of the system's incorrect date and time? I don't think the a domain's SSL certificate have anything with the date and time. It happens when the domains SSL get disabled for deactivated.

Looks like they've fixed it. it's showing "Connection is Secure" to me now.

If the system crashed during the initial sync, the blockchain is likely to be corrupt. A salvage attempt can be performed, but does not guarantee to repair the chain. Probably best to simply delete the blockchain file (data.mdb) and start from scratch.

Please upgrade to GUI v0.17.1.7 and try resending thereafter.
