Hi guys, good to see some work and dedication on the abandoned zimstake, sorry to hear about it.
I have a small amount on bittrex, can still withdraw but can't setup the wallet, can anyone direct me to the right .config or steps and is it working ? I am given an adress but not syncing.
Would like to stake if possible, also downloading the blockchain in the side would be a usefull feature if it's possible ?

Delete everything (EXCEPT wallet.dat ) and set up >> it will synch.

You are misinformed on some of those points but right on others:

1. Bitcoin is not anonymous.
2. Merchant adoption of Alt-Coins is a cliche and after 4 years not even Bitcoin got it right properly. Bitcoin has shortcomings which is one of the main reasons that alt-coins exist to plug the gaps and improve. Minutes are optimistic for Bitcoin and is one of the reasons why alt-coins were created. Unfortunately alt-coins are 90% scams, 9% devs that start ok but are not committed to see things through (eg. ZS) and 1% that struggle along in a hostile market where the attention span of the average holder is 3 weeks max and short term profit is everyone's motivation and hoping they don't hold the bag when the music stops.
3. The only alt-coins that are reasonably successful are those that have built in anonymous features because there is an instant demand for it. People inherently want to keep their lives private and yes there will be those that misuse the anonymous features for illegal purposes unfortunately.
4. Implementing real life services takes time, 6-12 months IMO. Any coin that wants to do that will have to find ways to fund dev work and keep the coin alive during that period. Whatever the revival plans will have to include ways to keep the coin alive while real life services are chased.

I have an idea that ZS could focus on with the revival. Unfortunately I can only offer advice and strategy to whomever takes this forward as that is what I have time for. I am a thinker and not a do-er. If the decisions are made of names of the people that will take it forward, then I will give the idea to that person to take further as i cannot be a foundation member myself. The trick will be for the marketing and branding to differentiate ZS from the rest on its own unique ladder and to that extent you are correct about merchant adoption, but ZS has to focus on a specific purpose. I also recommend to create a new thread once the revival is up and running and to let this thread and its skeletons be tucked in the crypt where it belongs.

I think this community has some very strong members here. There are also a lot of varying ideas for the direction of the currency. I believe we can pool our thoughts together and make a strong diverse currency. If you have a strong idea about the currency, please express the idea and as long as the board/foundation thinks the idea could help, we can implement the idea. If you do have a strong idea, be ready to accept responsibility to help the idea come to fruition.

Looks like things are moving apace! Glad to see it, ladies and gentlemen, and sorry I cannot be of much assistance at the moment. I hit the road tomorrow morning and will be mostly if not entirely incommunicado for about a week. After that time, I'll be able to assist to some degree. If you do get some programming work going, I'm always happy to test new stuff and let the smarter people know what it's doing vs. what it should be doing. I do not hold a great deal of ZS at the moment, less than 500 coins. So I can't promise any grand amount of donations to the cause, but I will try to pop something towards it. It also might not be a bad idea to have other coins as a donation option so that we can gather funds. I'd recommend Fire, Hyperstake, and Tek as candidates. What sort of program would you use to create a logo?

Im not a graphical type of guy but I would like a stab at having a go to design a zerostake logo.

I think we should start an OP for zer0stake and open up a logo bounty using foundation funds. We can offer a few bounties for things we ourselves cannot complete. I need to get in IRC and talk with icecube and see what he has in mind for a fork.

From their we can build an OP and at least get a cross post thread to talk in. Not sure the time frame for the fork, and if we want to go POW/POS again or if we want to premine a small amount for bounties. Others have advised against it and I think with my funds I send we will be close to 15k in the foundation fund. Only fear is it won't cover all we need to get stuff done. Offering a large bounty like 50k to perm DEV might be a good idea. Releasing 5k a week or every other week to ensure continuous development.


When I get back to my PC I'll send uki my 7500 ZS donation!

nothing posted there but this will be the new thread for ZS once we get more info on the fork out. Uki and I would like to mull over a few things with icecube, biomech, and bluewackadoo, chicken, when you guys get a chance. We need to cover some things regarding the fork, bounties, and  dev situation to release the new OP. I don't mind writing up the OP once I get the information all ironed out.

I know my time schedule doesn't correlate to many of yours, so its hard for me to be in IRC when you guys are. fortunately I experienced the last long week of work for a month or so. hopefully starting this week that will give me more time here to get stuff going.

as for issues at hand.

Fork-icecube are you still willing to provide this service? If so, whats your idea's/plan for it?

also one thing we mulled over is a small premine for the foundation, to cover bounties, dev, and pay for hosting. thoughts? I know we briefly covered this before but want to get everyone's thoughts on it. Is there a ZS development fund we can fork to the foundation fund?
