I wrote Coinbase about Xapo's new debit card (and my lack of comfort with their site) and got this response:

Sooner or later another country is going to have a financial crisis, like Argentina or Mexico or Russia or the PIIGS, etc. When they do it would be great if BTC companies were running ads in their papers/TV/web letting people know how they can transfer their fiat to buy BTC. It will be the next big round of growth for BTC. Who will be best positioned to take advantage?
