The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

I discovered I have 195000 SFR I had forgotten about.  It's not worth much at this price but I have started mining again to get to a nice round 200k. It's a shame the Dev has gone quiet as it was a good coin with a lot of promise. The fact the block chain is still working fine and it's still listed on exchanges shows how strong a coin it was. Hope the Dev wakes up soon.

Would be good to have an update to the OP as it's full of broken links and dead pools. Also the blockexplorer on the official website is broken.

I keep this coin as well, still Mining. Matter of fact I still have maybe 12 nodes running saffroncoin daemon, just to keep the coin afloat and synch fast.

Edit: Updated 26 May 2015

I decided to compile a list of pools still in operation for the 5 algorithms, and on the correct blockchain, as the OP is a mess of dead links, and bad pools.

SFR Algo Healthcheck
Groestl, Sha and Blake are regularly generating blocks and in good health as they have active regular miners.
Scrypt had generated barely any blocks since the 26 April 2015, due to high difficulty and not enough miners. Effort was made as of 20 May 2015 to start mining Scrypt again, and several blocks were found bringing the difficulty back down. Now the profit switcher at Hamsterpool occasionally mines SFR when the difficulty goes too low, which is creating a volatile difficulty level. Below about difficulty level 6, about 20-30 miners on the profit switching pool start mining on Scrypt, and push the difficulty up way high, before all leaving again. Generally though Scrypt is looking better now, as at least we are finding blocks on an irregular schedule, rather than none at all.
x11 has no working pools that I can find, and therefore apparently no miners, and the difficulty is probably too high to solo mine. We need a new X11 pool so we can start mining again and bring the difficulty down to a more appropriate level. No new X11 blocks are being generated at present.

The great strength of multi-algo coins, is that that despite 2 algorithms being in poor health, 3 have been in continuous good health, meaning the coin still functions perfectly. Multi-algo coins have always been under appreciated, and Saffroncoin is probably the best one out there, despite the lack of progress from the dev in recent months and a low price, it is still fundamentally a solid, well developed coin.

Working Pools

X11
No known pools!
Please try solomining or create a pool!

SCRYPT
Semi-active pool: https://hamsterpool.com/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool&coin=sfr_scrypt
This is a profit switching pool, and therefore doesn't always have miners. You can still use it as a dedicated SFR pool by pointing to port 3052. Solo miners also compete with this pool.

GROESTL
Inactive pool: https://www.miners-pool.eu/#!/pools/saffroncoin-groestl
No one uses the Groestl pool very often, but it is working if you want to give it a go. The difficulty is low, and the algo is being supported by solo miners even when the pool is dead.

SHA-256D
Active pool: http://ispace.co.uk/coindetails/?coin=sfr
Active pool: https://hamsterpool.com/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool&coin=sfr_sha256
Two competing pools, both finding blocks. Also competing with solo miners.

BLAKE256
Active pool: https://www.miners-pool.eu/#!/pools/saffroncoin
This pool finds all the Blake blocks at the moment.

Mining Rewards
The current block reward is 21 SFR. Each algo is targeted to generate a block every 450 seconds. Each algo therefore can produce 4032 coins per day, for 20160 total new coins a day across all 5 algos. The actual amount of new coins a day is less than this, as not all algos, particularly X11, are being mined. The true number of new coins a day is between 12-16k a day, depending on Scrypt blocks found.

All pools below are working, some have miners, and some are abandoned, but still working if you wanted to mine there (most algorithms can be solo mined effectively at present).

At the moment, Groestl, Sha and Blake are regularly producing blocks and in good health as they have active miners. X11 and Scrypt are struggling to find blocks as the difficulty is too high to easily solo mine, and no pools are actively mining on those algos at present. For Scrypt there is at least a working pool which no one is using, but unfortunately for X11 I can't even find a single working pool. This is actually the great strength of multi-algo coins, that despite 2 algorithms being in poor health, 3 are in good health, meaning the coin still functions perfectly. I have updated my above post with new information

It seems my post about pools has helped out! Since I posted it 12 hours ago, we managed to get new miners on the Scrypt pool, and have successfully found several blocks this afternoon for the first time in almost a month!

This had bought the difficulty back down, but it is still not generating as many blocks as the other 3 healthy algos. The difficulty still needs to adjust lower, or ideally, we need more Scrypt miners!

This means we now have 3 healthy algos, and 1 recovering algo. Now we just need a new X11 pool, so we can ensure all algos are generating blocks again!

I feel like I got trolled, honestly. Why keep giving specific release dates and not only fail to release anything but also keep quiet about it? Are the other devs, besides Roshan, even part of this coin anymore? Did UnoCoin take precedent over SFR development, Roshan? These are genuine questions, and I'm not trying to vilify you even if it seems that way. We need the old Rosh and SFR dev team back.

SFR Algo Healthcheck
Groestl, Sha and Blake are regularly generating blocks and in good health as they have active regular miners.
Scrypt has not regularly been generating blocks for the past month, due to high difficulty and not enough miners. Effort has been made today following this post to start mining Scrypt again, and several blocks have been found on Scrypt in the past 12 hours since this post. The difficulty has been successfully reduced to 6, making it once again possible to mine more easily.
x11 has no working pools that I can find, and therefore apparently no miners, and the difficulty is probably too high to solo mine. We need a new X11 pool so we can start mining again and bring the difficulty down to a more appropriate level.

The great strength of multi-algo coins, is that that despite 2 algorithms being in poor health before today, 3 have been in good health, meaning the coin still functions perfectly. Multi-algo coins have always been under appreciated, and Saffroncoin is probably the best one out there, despite the lack of progress from the dev in recent months and a low price, it is still fundamentally a solid, well developed coin.

This is great! Thanks for taking the time to put this together Smiley Hopefully maybe Rosh will see this and update the OP...

I'm right here with you crypto. I honestly i have no idea what to think, which is something probably common for a lot of people around this thread. I would be ecstatic if Rosh were to post an update explaining everything, but I don't think that's going to happen or at least any time soon. Given how things have progressed the past couple months, it appears that Rosh is only updating this thread occasionally/rarely or whenever he has time. So i wouldn't expect that to change any time soon, and if he starts posting more regularly again, i'd expect/hope things to stay that way.

But the reason for his absence, or appeared absence, as of now is pure speculation. No one has any idea exactly what is up with Roshan or SaffronCoin. Some make assumptions, or educated guesses, on what might be and some very well might be true, but at least for me I'm still giving Rosh the benefit of the doubt, for better or for worse. The money i lost with SFR's price decline, i've already accepted it and moved on. Probably like many here, this coin had gone somewhat beyond the typical p/l as many of us truly care(d) about the future and success of SFR.

Roshan for over 6 months was one of the best altcoin developers, taking into account skills, accountability, and communication. I know for months now he's been MIA and everything looks bad, and I could be completely wrong, but SFR has risen from the ashes before, and just for me, i'm not personally giving up on it quite yet.

(BTW crypto all that was not directed at you specifically, just mainly voicing my opinions Smiley You know how i feel about all of this man, but i just don't think we're getting an update unfortunately).

I am quite a positive person and always like to give people the benefit of the doubt, even when they have let us down, let us try that for a moment. The fact is, working on a coin like this is extremely time consuming, and when the price of the coin takes a dive, the miners start to drop off, and the community starts to shrink away, it would take a really devoted dev to stick around, since he essentially donates his time for free. He probably doesn't hold much SFR, and does this for free. It must be very challenging to put up with all the trolls, all the whinging, and all the entitled holders making demands, for any dev of any coin.

I agree that this has moved far beyond money for me, and I actually just think it's a good coin, with good tech, a good wallet, and still offers a lot. If anything SFR just suffered from lack of PR, with the features it was pumping out last year, it should have got far more attention than it did.

And so I have come back into this thread, because I think the first stage to recovery is accepting we have hit rock bottom, and from that perspective, things can only improve. If we show that we are still interested in this coin, can start mining on all 5 algorithms again, and bring this thread back to life, we will likely get the attention of Rosh (who has posted in recent weeks saying he hasn't abandoned the coin), who might start switching things up a gear when he sees the interest in the coin is still here. If we can mine on all 5 algorithms, just to support the coin, rather than in terms of profit, and support it as a community venture, I think we can take large steps in getting Rosh to come back to work on the coin again.

I was mining as long as http://pool.saffroncoin.com/ was alive.
Once that died, I was forced to stop my rig, as it was also getting warmer here.

If there is an active scrypt pool again, I might start mining again.

One good news is that SFR is listed under the "Verified Markets" tab on Bittrex.
So I guess there is no danger of de-listing anymore ?!

If there is an active scrypt pool again, I might start mining again.
In my previous post the pool at hamsterpool is working on the scrypt algorithm. Unfortunately the activity is a little on/off and no one is mining there at this exact moment, but it has found several hundred blocks in recent days since my post, as miners have come and gone.

At the moment each algo can produce 4000 coins a day for 20000 total. Blake, Sha and groestl are consistently producing 4000 coin a day. The 4000 coins a day are up for grabs on x11 and Scrypt though if someone can devote the appropriate mining rig...  Scrypt needs to be kept above about 6 difficulty before the profit multipool jumps in, and jacks the diff up way too high again. X11 needs a sufficient rig to try and bring the difficulty back down, or a new pool of miners.

From Bittrex:

A Verified Market is a market whose Market currency has completed a proof-of-developer by a developer verification service such as ProofofDev.com and has traded on the Bittrex site for over 120 days.

For example, BTC-URO trades UroCoin which has a PoD score of 4 and has been on Bittrex since May 15th, 2014.  Source: http://proofofdev.com/uro-urocoin/

We do not warrant any developer or coin verification scores but provide them as a tool to help traders assess the level of risk they are willing to take.

To make a long story short: Go to Bittrex.com and click on 'verfied markets' tab next to 'all markets' tab and there you will find SFR.

To make it more shorter: VERIFIED Grin
