They're holding on to their coins.

Can't open? SFR has been removed

It was working last Saturday, even the block explorer.
I think they're removing the traces of Saffroncoin (SFR) in most links in preparation of migration to new token (Saffron).

Yet my wallet is still updated and  synchronized with 3 active connections.

Where can I see the available nodes, I only have one active connections

Currently there is only 1 connection.
I woudn't bother mining it, with 1 connection, the chain could fork all over the place.
Probably best to wait until the re-launch.

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Anyone here have a file or a link to a working saffroincoin node scrypt.

Been trying to install the file from here https://github.com/saffroncoin/saffroncoin.

I tried different Linux but still doesnt work even Uprading. I have move to diffent VPS and upgrades Ubunto 16.04 but still it breaks.

any help is most welcome. I'm trying to install several nodes so we can mine more coins before the Dev move to new blockchain but hopefully we can use of our coins in our wallets.

I'm going to hazard a guess that UPgrading might not be the right thing to do, but instead try an older version that was current when the git was last updated. I am far from an expert but I've compiled a wallet or two and usually seem to run into problems with Berkley DB and Boost versions, sometimes SSL or QT version. It's a mess dealing with older cryptos.

I have no idea if this will help, but I found this in my bookmarks. Maybe it would work in combination with an older version of Ubuntu? There are also some posts in the thread that might relate to whatever errors you're running into.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=498746.0

Hope that helps.

Any news from the Dev.?

Not since November, but the post above yours seems to indicate there will be some news in January at a crypto conference in India. Guess we'll find out in a month or so.  Smiley

Hello Community,

It's great that the thread is getting active. I had written an earlier post on how certain circumstances could not push the development of this project.
We envisioned some of the smartest protocols such as SFRDirect which was supposed to help create smart tokens easily before the launch of turing complete blockchains. We had also proposed the biggest feature of all- ORION (Interoperability of Blockchains). This is the biggest trend in crypto today. We were years ahead in our technological vision for the industry.

The good news is that Saffroncoin is in the process of pursuing its earlier vision. The "coin" is dropped and the project is rebranded as "Saffron".

Giving a gist of the platform, it will be a smart blockchain, focused only on payments and decentralised exchanges of tokens using our underlying technology - Orion which will be built using Cosmos.

Someone pointed out that we have newly registered this company. That's true. We are in the process of securing a strong development team and funding.

In short, Saffron will be the "Consensys" for all payment-related applications.

We are working out on a mechanism on how to swap the existing Saffroncoins to the new Saffron tokens.

There is no ICO bullshit but we might end up doing an IEO(maybe).

We hope once Indian regulations come by, Saffron will be the primary crypto for payments in India and neighbouring countries.

One thing to note, Saffron in no way will compete with other cryptos to become the next bitcoin or ethereum. That kind of language will not be spoken by our team. We believe there is enough space in the ecosystem for innovation and we provide a niche solution to a specific problem.

Token of appreciation to those that stuck around, exciting times ahead.

I'll be keeping you all updated.

Cheers

Given the lack of further updates, and your new GoSats project, I'm guess this has now been shelved?

All the best with your new GoSats venture Smiley

node for SaffronCoin[SFR]:
addnode=91.121.221.92:19717

Thanks! I'll see if I can sync it.

There was supposed to be some news on Saffroncoin's continued/renewed existence but I haven't seen anything. Too bad, I always was fond of this one.

Dec 28, 2020 edit:

I was able to sync it when I tried and I've backed up the blockchain files into a zip people can use to speed up the sync process.  Just unzip and copy the contents into your \appdata\roaming (Windows) or ~/Library/Application Support/Saffroncoin folder, overwriting the contents. I've included an updated conf file.

Make sure to back up your wallet.dat file first!

I just launched the Saffroncoin client for the first time in a while and I'm getting 5 connections. So somebody out there is still supporting the network. That's cool. I wonder how the recent anti-crypto talk of the India government will play out.

Someone should wrap SFR and put it on Ethereum or one of the EVM alts like Expanse, Ubiq, or Tao!
