message me I will send you $2 worth of btc for nothing in return Smiley

ps.. this offer only stands for OP

Right, I hope this generous soul doesn't get too spammed by no OPs asking for the same deal.  x8008 would be one of the most generous faucets in a long time Smiley

Wow.. that is great. That will be almost BTC0.005 at today's exchange rate. And I fear that you will get hundreds of messages from beggars asking you to donate coins for them too.  Grin Anyway, the OP was hoping to finish off his Paypal balance... So I think he will linger a bit more here.

Maybe just donate it when you get $2 worth of BTC donated by x8008?
I never used paypal, don't know whether there are charities taking paypal donations, but it should be the easiest way of getting rid of it.

So if the deal with x8008 did not work, I'd be willing to send you 0.00455 BTC which is around $2 at the moment (PM me your bitcoin address).
I expect you to donate your $2 to this charity:
http://www.vivaconagua.co.uk/
I'm not related to them in any way, just found them when I searched for paypal-accepting charities, and their goals (clean water for needy regions) should be generally agreeable unless you're a misanthropist.
Please post some kind of proof of donation (screenshot).

Onkel Paul

PS: Just noticed that they don't seem to have paypal donation info on their english page. You might have to go to the german pages to find the paypal donation button.

you can use http://www.bitcoininsanity.com/ for this ...

I looked at the site, and it's not clear how they avoid being ripped off with charge-backs.
Any idea how they actually control/avoid fraud?

They're limiting people to like 0.046 BTC / day for $25, which is actually like $20 worth of BTC..

So basically they're counting on the fact that there's not many ppl who are going to do chargeback fraud to make 20 bucks.

Interesting service, but 25% markup ? Dang!

I guess the high markup also relates to the risk of chargeback fraud they they're incurring.  I still haven't bought btc via credit card or paypal so it's interesting to me to hear about the state-of-affairs related to those kinds of purchases.  For btc to really thrive, at some point it will have to be easy for the common (wo)man to switch back and forth from fiat even for small amounts.

Egopay + www.xmlgold.net It's good for small amoounts. You can easily feed your Egopay with cash without even having to give out your real name. After that there are many exchangers to exchange your money. I sold some bitcoin with xml some days ago and it went smooth.

Use VirWox. First convert the PP USD to SLL, and then convert the SLL to Bitcoins. Withdraw the coins to your address. The site is quite reliable, and has been there for almost 2 years now.  Grin
I don't think you can exchange 2 dollar on virwox, you need at least $10 I think

It looks like they charge a huge markup. For example they are selling 0.032 BTC for $25.00 that works out to be $781.25/BTC. Bitstamp is trading at $657.21/BTC right now, so as long as they are scammed out of less then 18% of their orders they will be fine. That with the fact that they only sell relatively small amounts they are likely not a huge target for scammers.
