I'm not just new, but very new in this. What are my chances to earn/mining bitcoins? I have a PC and I live in China (currently, because I'm from Europe, but now I live and work in China).
Please, someone with more experience to give me a realistic answer. May I hope to earn something or not?
Thanks in advance, good people!

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

No, you can hope to earn nothing, unless you buy expensive hardware.

Thanks for your answer! This is exactly what I heard from a friend, who described me something like "buy a few PC" or "cards" I don't remember... his meaning was just 1 PC is not enough. And now you answered me the same, so I'm starting to understand the matter...

If you want to mine Bitcoin you should buy expensive hardware unless you won't mine anything!
But you can mine altcoins if you buy or if you have a good graphic card!
I recommend the altcoin mining because you can start cheaper and at now you can earn more than bitcoin mining!
I hope it was helpful for you!

If you're in China, depending on your proximity, you can walk in, buy, and pickup any of the miner manufactured over there.

Bitmain, Avalon, Black Arrow, Gridseed, Lightning Asic, Bitmine etc are all based in China.

Probably should go there anyways and talk to them about mining to educate yourself.  You'd probably get a better price than us!

You won't mine anything with your PC.
You can buy ASICs to mine bitcoin, but I am not sure you can get your investment back...

If you are doing it for profit, then just buy bitcoins.  NO machine out there will get you more bitcoins than you can buy right now.

If you want to do it as a hobby then check out bitmaintech.com.  That's the company I recommend for miners.
