With this whole BTER scandal, what is going to happen on Feb. 20 when the next phase of NODE is supposed to be announced?

Hopefully exchanges will not be needed  Cool

That's what I'm thinking, but let's wait and see what happens.

I still hope we could get back our Nodes on bter.
It's "only" 7200 BTC. I don't think it's enough to close bter. I wasn't there when the same thing happened with NXT, did someone remember ? Was bter close during some days ?

Not sure, but they managed to get most of the NXT back. That was a sensible move on the thief's part because there was no way they could get rid of that much with such a small market. With BTC it's a different matter. Hopefully they'll come through.

what was that with the node allegedly getting stolen or disappearing from some accounts?

anybody figured out what the security breach may be / have been?

No one has told me anything anyway. I know it was minor for me, but it does look like at least a few hundred bucks worth were stolen and sent to one wallet and there's no reason to assume the thief only was receiving on one account.  I was planning on buying more, but that this is completely ignored on a coin with the whole platform based on being a payment system doesn't inspire confidence to me.

To my knowledge no one has complained about something like this.
So what is there to say?

I don't understand this either, isn't the whole point of crypto coins to allow for an easier payment system accessible by everyone not just the few?

On another note, we need to get another exchange/s listing NODE asap and with the security breaches it would be good if dev starts securing the online wallet with SSL.  It's not hard to set up and will build confidence.

CNY and USD withdrawals will be enabled first in these days and the crypto-coins (NXT etc)will be handled later when we make sure it's safe.

I'm no one?  I even tracked down the block chain to show there were several transactions all going to the same wallet around the same time I was robbed to see if it was just me (and therefore likely on my end) and it wasn't

yes this makes a bit nervous also. In Nxt, it usually turned out that some mistake had been made, but it is something that needs to be considered.

was/is there a leak in the webwallet landing page? usually, if such a thing occurs, thieves grab as much as they can, and we would have seen more of it.

Well he has yet to show proof so who knows.  A lot of people have been trying to FUD node for a while now.

Someone stole all my node with a reasonably secure password on a computer with good antivirus software that scans daily. None of my other accounts were compromised (most of which were worth significantly more than my node wallet) so I doubt the issue was from my end.

Only had about 10 USD worth of node at current prices, but still pretty upsetting that it got stolen. Posting here so other people can watch out in case it isn't an isolated incident.  Wallet it got sent to is 8484251769134092323

and I was definitely not the only one, and some people lost significantly more.  Here's the transactions for this wallet, but there could be other ones. http://nodemoney.com:19775/#/explorer/transaction/8484251769134092323

The parameters explorer and transaction does not work anymore?
