More pools!! Grin
Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

@rubberpool, keep it classy. pools go down because people attack them, at least in this case.
dedicated is one of the most respected pools on this site. while you're not directly calling them out its insinuated since thats the previous conversation. they are back up and running, and typically don't have issues like that.

due to your comment, you've been removed from my pool list in my configs.
i don't take slander lightly.

Trying for my first withdrawl from dedicated now. Seems to be working fine.

I've used Dedicated on a number of coins recently and they have always been rock solid.  when you are renting rigs you don't want to waste money on stratum going down all the time.  They have excellent DOS protection and I have never had any problems withdrawing coins.

When I see dedicated pool in the list of pools at launch that is always my first stop.  Quality.

@jollyriffic, I had no idea dedicated is down. Out of so many pools you've instantly thought that I was reffering to dedicated. You must have a reason to think this way  Grin

yeah, that reasoning being that 5 posts after i said dedicated was down, you posted your "Don't waste your hashes on shitty unstable pools".
regardless if you were directing that at them or just trying to gain people, what kind of pool operator or team conducts their business like that?
you can run your pool however you like, but its not going to gain you any respect.

Dedicated seems to be dropping connection pretty bad right now.
make sure you've got your backup pools in your config everyone!

Same here, I can't stay connected

Sorry, we apologize.

Dedicated experienced a 60,000 connection per second DDoS on the University stratums this morning.  It was launched by other pool ops an in attempt to steal hash.  This is very rare, and our DDoS company should have stopped it.  They have now mitigated it and will not be affected by this type of attack again.

Please point your miners back to dedicated and lets start hashing away again.

UC.DEDICATEDPOOL.COM

Mining Information

  • Custom stratum/mpos environment
  • Vardiff enabled
  • PPNLS payout system
  • Everything is transparent - blocks, donations, fees.

Server Infrastructure

  • SIX(6) SERVERS IN CLUSTER
  • DDoS level 7 cloudflare, 5 and 3 stratum, and level at 1 switch level
  • 8 Core servers, 256GB DDR3 RAM, RAID 10 SSD
  • Ramdisks, memcaches, to make things go extremely quick

I like Dedicated Pools but think the way their PPLNS payouts is configured disadvantages small miners with less hash. The way it's setup when mining on their pool you only get paid a share of the block if you submit shares towards the block found. Since their vardiff will keep you from submitting shares too quickly, if their pool hash is very high you wind up only getting credit for the blocks found at a higher hight and not the easy blocks found by large hash miners. Other PPLNS pools give you a payout for all blocks found by the pool, even when no shares were submitted.

It is true that dedicated's website was down for a while, but as far as I see no shares were lost.

Come join https://uvv.hardcoreminers.com
It has a PROP payout system and DDOS protection on switch level.
We are finding blocks but definatly need more hashrate!

your url makes it seem as though the coin hasn't launched :\

says
Quote
The launch should have happened by now but the dev of the coin is not online yet..

So set up a failover with my pool as primary if you want to go to sleep..

My guess is that it won't happen tonight. I'm staying up through the night because i have another coin launch, it's a SHA256 one called Bonuscoin.
https://bns.hardcoreminers.com

You can try that, it's the only launch i can offer right now. It will happen in around 2 hours.
