I've noticed a lot of other forums have the ability to add a post to your quote. This way, if you want to quote a bunch of people and reply to them all at once, you can click the little + button by the multi-quote.

It'd be pretty nice to have this feature on the new forum software.

something like this:

where you just click the plus buttons and THEN click quote on the last person, instead of quoting one person and reading/clicking insert post from newest to oldest view.

Most forums I participate in have this exact system. This is definitely a must for the new forums, yet, I have not seen it in the requirements.

The signature campaign posters adding useless redundant fluff to their posts to reach their minimum word count are lowering my IQ.

You can click the "insert quote" links when composing a reply.

You can click the "insert quote" links when composing a reply.

Do you know how much of a pain that is scrolling down 20+ posts, click "insert quote", do the same thing for 19+ posts, clicking "insert quote". Rinse and repeat 3-4 times.

On the current forum you can enable Quick reply:
- Profile - Look and Layout Preferences - Use quick reply on topic display: show

And the Quote buttons will work as a multi-quote button in the quick reply field.

Good to know, wish is it was enabled by default or at least not such a 'hidden' feature.

I think that the existing system is alright, but your suggestion would improve it.

For instance, the page in which we reply on would not have to load and display the other replies below, reducing the content and making the page smaller.

I don't think that this would be a problem as the majority of users will decide on which posts to quote upon clicking reply or quote. Nice idea.
