If bitcoin is regulated, taxed and supervised, what advantages will it continue to offer over the dollar and traditional forms of fiat transfer?

Think about those two things.

This is the farthest thing from another copy paste shitcoin POS system. This is a wealth management and investment product as serious or more so than bitcoin. And I believe will  far surpass bitcoin in value as high net worth individuals move money there as a way to earn interest and guard against inflation. Banks are moving towards negative interest rates. Savings account confiscation has already been discussed by Lagarde for the EU.

As QE winds down and paper money moves towards it's intrinsic value of zero people with a lot of money on the line at risk of inflation eating it away will look for precious metals (or something better) to put money in.

That is right. And I believe all or only serious coins will go into several regulation process and if any new coin is not regulated, they will be out of business.
