For anyone who might have missed it, Hashfast has posted prices for their GN1 ASIC chip and various other components and hardware they have on hand for immediate sale.  See the complete list of what is available on their site.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

The complete cost of the system should be slightly lower than 1$/GH and the power consumption 1.2J/GH at the wall.
