I would definitely look around here before Flea-bay... Prices are ridiculous over there, relative to the forum sales...

Donations are welcome!

I have looked at ebay and the marketplace here. Im a little concerned with second hand gear though. Also, Im building a few rigs and Id like to keep all of the components as uniform as possible. I found a couple of websites with great prices but they look like scams to me. toolsappliances.com and hardwareking.net. Very shady looking.

I would definitely avoid websites like that... You could also try amazon for used equipment. They often will have something used from time to time...

If the site looks shady, it probably is. Hardwareking apparently has 5970's in stock. I call BS on all of it.

By the way, are you looking for 5830's, 50's or 70's? Or just an even distribution of the three?

Donations are welcome!

It all depends on the price per mhash. Ill probably going with 5830's due to the price but would certainly prefer 50's or 70's if I  can find a deal. Found some 5850's for 140 shipped but by the time I grabbed my card and got back to the computer they were sold out. Im really not comfortable buying used equipment for this type of project so no ebay for me.

I have 2 Sapphire 5830 cards that were used a whole day.  I undervolted them and underclocked memory/gpu, so I'm sure they are in "virtually new" condition and never got above 70C.  I decided it wasn't worth the hassle of having a second psu, supporting the cards with cardboard, and reduced airflow to the other 3 that fit directly on the board.  I'll let them go for $75 each.  At this point I wouldn't use 5830's unless you have free power.  Definitely undervolt, underclock memory/gpu to make them as efficient as possible.

On the off chance you want all of them I could let 2 of other 3 cards that were used for 6 months go for $65 each (keeping one for video games, etc.)

I'll even give you $7/coin if you pay with bitcoins.
