Hello to all,

As promised here is the new version of the wallet, infos about the eco-system and a bit more infos about the whole plan.

The second POW phase
First of all, about the second POW phase. You can find more than enough arguments here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=599438.1680. Silkcoin will stick to the plan, keeping the last POW phase. For those who criticize the lack of marketing and presence (btw we've been here 11 days and I have almost 100 posts on this topic alone), Silkcoin team is made of 5 devs including myself, a whole lot of BTC and the premine.
At first I was in charge of ALL the public view and a bit of dev this was quite a challenge, thanks to the community I now have a lot of help and we're all getting organized very fast, the team and supporters are building up. We started with no community, so this sort of "sleeping" phase we're in is perfect to let us unveil the enormous potential of Silkcoin; Building a solid community and making a perfect marketers team.
More solid arguments can be found in Wulfcastle posts in the Bitcointalk page I linked.

The plan
Now about the plan. Marketing you'll see more than enough till we reach block 50k POW phase, there's going to be a lot of movement everywhere.
About development, most of the devs are focused on the eco-system but once in a while throw in a few new functions for the wallet so expect continuous updates every week always improving your experience and of course we'll remove functions or infos once they become obsolete.
The main point about these "small" devs is that we want to be always improving the user experience and keeping them interested in Silkcoin. What better way to keep a community interested than releasing regular updates with continuous improvement. These updates also aim to make the wallet easier to use for new-comers regrouping all infos necessary to the proper use of a crypto-currency without typing a single command, or google search.
We're quite satisfied of the current distribution model, so instead of focusing on integrating X11, reducing supply or such, doing hard-forks and putting the blockchain at risk, we'll now focus on other aspects than mining like new uses for the blockchain, improved user experience, marketing etc..
About Anon features, we wanted to integrate zerocoin at first but the masterkey issue is just too big. But now with the upcoming release of darksend and all other devs on anon features we decided to wait to see how all this goes and integrate the fittest option. But be certain we'll integrate it in time, for the above reasons it's not the priority.
Tor integration will be released very soon, you can actually already connect through tor but we'll put a one click button because as always we want our wallet to as user friendly as possible.

New version released
Today we're also releasing a new version of the wallet, as always linux is available first you'll have to wait a bit more for windows and mac.
We improved the market data fixing glitches and adding the orderbook. Trading will be available soon but we would really like to be integrated at MintPal before we release it.

We also added a new "Social" tab with links to the main silkcoin hubs and a built-in IRC chat. Yes we got a lot of demands for a chat like billioncoin, but we could not just do a frame of a website with a chat in it like them, it would've been cheap Smiley. So now you can enjoy the built-in chat, connect/disconnect at will, send private messages and even join other channels! Only downside at the moment is that the userlist may get a bit buggy sometimes if there's too much users, just switch tabs to fix it.  As always, expect this to be fixed in next release Wink.

Silkcoin eco-system
Now let's talk about this eco-system. We didn't want to unveil it this soon but since we talked a bit about I will tell you a few things. First of all it's in very early stages, so don't get too excited it won't be out before at least 2-3 months.
The whole system works with torrents and the blockchain, Satoshi's greatest invention wasn't the bitcoin currency it was the blockchain. He invented the first way to really decentralize anything, on a freedom point of view there's so much more to be done than a currency.

So here's how it works, once you're connected through your wallet, you will be able to access a local website on your computer at 127.0.0.1:1666, this hub will regoup a lot of different functions all decentralized and based on the blockchain.
And yes this means no censoring and freedom of speech. We're pretty sure we can succeed in time to make all the planned functionalities, but they will be added progressively. I'll detail later what the first integrations will be.
This hub works a bit like a social network, with profiles, friends, post boards etc.. You'll generate a unique user that will be tied to your secret key, if you lose the secret key there's no way to retrieve your account. To interact with someone (make an exchange, send a message etc..) you'll have to be friends with each other, this is a limitation we can do nothing about.
At the moment we think we'll launch social network features and file sharing first since they are already working pretty great on full POS. Exchanger will follow, we're still having a few unresolved issues. And we thought of a marketplace but we're still discussing the implications and we don't think it will be feasible because of a lot of obvious concerns. These are the main primary objectives at the moment, but of course there's plenty of possibilities and ideas who knows how all this will evolve.

Design is also in very early stages, don't be shocked if it doesn't look very sexy!

Here's a screen of the network status when you open the wallet & connect to the website. You can't do anything until the blockchain is up to date and data downloaded. Then of the profile, most functions you see are already working pretty well. We'll show you a screenshot of the exchanger once it's a bit more advanced, at the moment it's not looking like anything Smiley.

Of course we welcome any dev who wants to help us, just contact us with your skills we need all the help we can get. And no, if you copy-pasted a coin you're not a dev Smiley.
We'll answer all questions in time, I know there must be a lot of questions arising but look at the size of this post hehe and at first we didn't want to talk about it so soon Shocked again, it's still in very early stages but the system we use seems to be working great.

As you can see, if this eco-system comes out it's going to be huge. It's a decentralized censorfree world, you'll be staking, securing the network and winning money while browsing the eco-system. And Silkcoin will be the main currency here, we'd actually be the first to really solve the issue of most cryptos "what to do with my coins other than speculate" and manage to keep a lot of users with the wallet open to secure even more the network.

Conclusion
The conclusion is that all is tied together, the only thing we missed was a good marketing team and a community at launch, and just look 10 days after how everything is building itself. Some of you made some pretty good arguments against the second POW phase, but reading all that I think it's pretty obvious it wasn't such a bad choice at first. When the last phase will happen followed by the release of the eco-system, we'll have maximum visibility, a solid team (which we didn't have at first) and you, the community.

Can't wait to see how last phase is going to be..

And once again thanks to all of you for all your positive/constructive feedbacks.

Ps : Yes I'll upgrade main thread asap at the same time I update the windows compiled. But right now I need a little bit of sleep, it's 8 am here and worked all night. I'll be back in a few hours, and don't worry still 30k blocks to go Wink
Ps2 : Please avoid quoting this it's way too long!

We're not calling ourself 2nd generation, we're Silkcoin.

And we're closer to blackcoin than to nxt. Even so, it's not that important Wink.

Wow judgecrypto, you haven't slept either  Tongue ? Seen you talking here since yesterday.

Hah, thanks for all the great feedbacks.
And don't worry, 20 days left to get integrated into MintPal Wink.

The thread graphics has been updated, I'll take some time when I wake up to edit the infos at the same time as the compiled windows.
Really need to sleep a few hours now, it's 10 am here!

I'll be back soon Smiley.

PS : by the way it has been stated many times we have a view/answer ratio off the charts, so I think we have more visibility than you think Wink. It's just there's only positive on this thread and positive usually makes less posts than angry people yelling at each other and threads full of bug issues. Lot's of people waiting for block 50k also.

I really appreciate the awesome functionality of the wallet and the serious involvement of the devs.

Thank you for providing us with a well designed, well thought out coin. I am sure Silkcoin will be going places, the 1000 sat price will see a nice upward trend i think.

If it's the first time you open the wallet, relaunch it will work fine.

If not, your blockchain got somehow corrupted.
Delete the content of appdata/roaming/silkcoin but keep your wallet.dat and relaunch!
