Announcement:

Dear FairCoin Community,

we are pleased to announce the availability of the new FairCoin wallet. It is a major step into the new future of FairCoin.
This release is 100% protocol compatible to the old version (NO hard fork). This means that nobody is forced to update, although we encourage everybody to use the new release to be able to receive network alerts. The old version will continue to work at least until the next release.

Changes:
Streamlined the build process (introduced gitian build system)
Added the new FairCoin logo (thanks to SomeRelax)
Updated openssl to the current version, thus fixing the Heartbleed bug
Replaced the alert keys which allows the developers to send instant notification of critical issues to the users
Linux static binaries (should work on most distros out of the box without the need of recompiling the sources)
Easy to use Windows installer
Moved the sources to the new location on github: https://github.com/FairCoinTeam/fair-coin.git
Known issues:
No Mac Wallet at this time (please let us know if there is demand at all)

What is FairCoin?

FairCoin is a decentralised virtual currency, distributed through a vast airdrop process during the 6th and 8th of March, 2014. An approximate 49,750 addresses were logged for the giveaway, each able to claim 1000 FAC per hour. Automated airdrop claiming methods had no effect, as each IP address could register once per hour, and 2 different captchas had to be solved. These security precautions were hidden till the day of distribution. FairCoin's vast distribution method allowed a good portion of the cryptocurrency community to claim a little bit of the 50,000,000 FairCoins, each.

Current Projects:

Constant Financial Analysis:

One of the first projects to be released will be the implementation of a near-daily financial analysis on FairCoin's price. The analysis will involve the utilization of determining factors such as the basic support and resistance levels, drawn trendlines, the possible usage of Fibonnaci Retracement and MACD indicators, and the basic points of recovery, breakout, and consolidation. With the analysis will come a close-to-accurate speculation of FairCoin's price for the future. The people doing this analysis will be the Community Manager and a close stock trading veteran.

Logo Competition:

The FairCoin Community will decide on the next new logo! The winner will take away a community-raised bounty prize. A new thread will be created solely for this competition, and a poll will be released around 2-3 weeks after the start of the competition.

Congratulations to SomeRelax for winning the logo competition with his very smart design. Also, a big thank you for all who attended. Your efforts are well appreciated!


Wallet-Integrated Emailing System:

One of the most distinguishing features FairCoin will have will be an innovative wallet-integrated emailing system. This will allow the transfer of messages, pictures, and videos straight through your FairCoin wallet, into another wallet. The receiver would be able to view the letter in an inbox section of the wallet. For this project, we will be working with numerous other new FairCoin developers with programming experience to provide this secure, reliable, unique, convenient, and innovative service for the FairCoin community. Your wallet address may become your next email address!

FairCoin was abandoned by its original developer; but not after promising huge projects, private investors, and much more. The FairCoin community was left to sit with unfulfilled promises, high hopes diminished, and a moral completely drained. A few leaders in the remaining community organized a new development team, consisting of some of the most devoted members. Together, this team will bring the coin to its former glory, and beyond that. The original developer promised huge projects. Instead, WE will be bringing them to you. The original developer promised private investors. They will come by themselves when FairCoin will take its seat at the top of the coin marketcap. And much more. We will bring them to you. As written by another user, I think we should ask for a partnership with fairtrade, the global organization born to secure a better deal for farmers and workers.

We could become partner of this project, since we are a coin born to promote fairness as well. We could send an email to info@fairtrade.net (someone with an english better than mine) asking for that and, for example, at the same time launching a fund-raising in faircoin to substain the organization. Project like that IMO can get a lot of exposure to our coin

I like this idea very much. However, I think it will be a while before we can actually make a proposal. The most important thing now is that we stabilize this coin and it's environment.

That doesn't mean that this idea cannot already be initiated. There's is nothing withholding you from setting up a thematic FairTrade Affiliation Team which can work out the details how, why and when FairCoin could work together with FairTrade.

So HackaB321, would you like to rally up a team for this initiative and pull this off?
