Most of the coins are going down, cuz the stakeholders just hold.

I'm conscious that some have a job. But like the guy I want to help (who invested 50.000 dollars in Namecoin @ $14 because of a friend), the stakeholder seems to just complain when prices are going down, then be happy when the price is up.

They should give some awareness about the investment they just made.

It's serious tech not stock market.

Now, marketing is key.

I know. I'm into the decentralized autonomous organization Decred.

And we suck at marketing...

Hey, This coin seems very promising - I am beginning to buy some up here. Developers, Can you please do some more social marketing to get this coin out to the public? It seems to have such little action going on. If we all share this coin I am sure it will get the necessary traction it deserves! LOVE WHAT YOU GUYS ARE DOING! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!

I bought NMC long long time ago, and thought its a great coin.

But, I agree, some more marketing and/or social media would not hurt. When people buy coins they like active devs, even when they work hard on projects too. Quick updates on forums etc.

Keep up the good work guys  Smiley

citation from message 5851 on thread 2040221:

"They'll EDA it to oblivion.

Soon they'll reduce the difficulty to "0" and giving away bcash for free.

Namecoin tasted this "death spiral", bcash is next."

I did not fully understand, can you comment ?

Namecoin could go 10X times lower in value due to bad volume and buy support and recent closure of btc-e I think.I hope poloniex do not delist us or we are going to much lower price but advantage for namecoin is not having any future regulatory issues like ICO.

biolizard89,
1. Could you please share a list of 5-10 real, working sites in the .bit domain zone?
2. Does merged PoW mining affect power consumption and real hashrate on Bitcoin ASICs?
3. A lot of people invested in Namecoins with the best intentions - supporting a revolutionary project.
Is anyone from the entire developer team even interested in the success of Namecoin:
a) as a crypto currency;
b) as technology?

I am having trouble using core.  Not seeing any connections.
Is there an addnode= list somewhere or additional setups required to use?

Progress on Electrum-NMC

Jun 17, 2017 • ahmedbodi

Work on the electrum port for Namecoin has been moving along nicely. It was decided that we will use the electrum-client from spesmilo, along with the electrumX server. ElectrumX was chosen due to the original electrum-server being discontinued a few months ago. So far the electrum client has been ported over for compatability with electrumX. This includes the re-branding, blockchain parameters and other electrum related settings for blockchain verification

On the roadmap now are:

Extend electrumX NMC Support to allow for full veritification of AuxPow
Modify new electrum client to verify the new AuxPow
Add Name handling support to electrum

These repo’s are for testing purposes only. Do not use these unless your willing to risk losing funds.

One of the strange things about Namecoin, it is the second cryptocurrency, after bitcoin, the first useful coin, still one of the most important innovations, one of only two coins Satoshi Nakamoto was involved with, but still little popular interest.

Anyway, as with any coin, when you need nodes google Namecoin Addnodes e.g. https://forum.namecoin.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2545
