I think $10 to $12 per MH/s is where we'll need to be by the 1st of Sept. if not sooner to even see a small  ::)positive ROI.

this will definitely not happen. If you buy via preorder a Titan miner you have to pay 17,48$/MH/s + custom + VAT + shipping. Than you have to build up the miner by yourself & you have to put on top the electricity costs:

Example if you buy 1 Titan & live in Austria (where I am from):

Costs for titan: 6,995.00 $
Costs for custom 15%: 1,049.25 $
VAT on top of (titan+custom) 20%: 1,608,85 $
Electricity for 1 year (1200 W + 20% losses) & 0.27 $ per kWh: 1.20*1,2*24*365*0.27$ = 3.405.89 $

Total costs: 6995+1049+1608+3405 = 13,057,- $ + shipping 50$ = 13,107.- $

Price per MH is than: 13107/400 = 32.64 $/MH/s

And you even dont know when your Titan miner will start to mine. If I see how KNC treated their customers in the past, I am sure that they will again break their promise and they will not deliver in Q3 as announced. That means that your Hashpower will be even less worth if you wait another 3-6 month for "maybe" delivery of KNC Titan miner.

The earlier you start mining the better is it. The best way to start mining is always after a pricedrop like Genesis Mining had last week. That is the best entry point because you have the best price available in the market and the lowest possible difficulty as you can start immediately mining.

I am not a diviner - just resuming what happend in the past.

Good post! Some simple truths from my own experience:

1) true cost of hardware: if you buy hardware the effective cost is the only thing that counts (many completely underestimate the true cost of mining; and also the amount of work to spend to keep your miner running)

2) do not trust pre-orders: BFL / KnC are classic examples for pre-order scam. It is quite obvious what kind of game they are playing (in particular KnC)

3) miners do not have a value after 1y: if you still think so show me any BTC miner that was delivered one year ago and sold. 5y contracts are useless in an exponential world

4) start mining if everyone else is dropping out (see my previous quote from Warren Buffett)

5) counterparties: only work with reliable and established counterparties (if you do not know the name of the people behind a company better avoid them).

You forgot to mention a critical point: if you want to ROI you must buy mH at the lowest price. Genesis Mining is $98.95 per mH for the Platinum package.
Two alternatives that cost less than $80 per mH are hosted mining at ltcgear.com and GAWMiners. Both are mining now.

Genesis Mining is offering a better deal at $59 per mH through Mining Asics Technoligies but you do have to wait until August for hashing to start.

Maybe the conference in Tel Aviv will be canceled (gaza war) and by coincidence relocated to e.g. singapore Wink

Right that there could be chances of canceled conference in Tel Aviv because of the recent situation there.

Am trying to mine a newly released scrypt coin with my 715KH/S ATI GPU.

It is one of those moments, that I wish I could point my GM hash at it instead ..

One day perhaps! Smiley

I am also keeping an eye on your website, for when you add the additional coin to mine Smiley

Nice...but i still fell not reinvesting anymore here...so expensive and early adopters take a big risk and loss any chance to ROI...

That's nice. If anyone use my promo code to singup, how much profit i will get?

for example, if someone uses your code to purchase 1 MH/S you will get 0.03 MH/S back or 30 Kh/s

then just multiply that for each MH/S.

If you are lucky enough for someone to buy 100MH/S with your code then you will get 3 MH/S back, which is worth a few hundred dollars, for free.

Most of the people using my code have been purchasing 1 or 2MH/S, but it soon builds up.

So, usually I'm not the first to blabber about payout, but the last BTC payment I received was on July 9. My computer says it's now July 12. At least 2.5 days since the last payment, and that's rather a long time  Huh

Are you sure about it. I haven't found any confirmation from Genesis mining. Waiting to hear from Genesis mining.

Oh
My
God

I really need to take things a bit slower, LMFAO  Grin

Thanks for thinking along Ian, but it's all me. I'm not getting any BTC cause I'm not mining BTC. It's that stupidly simple! I've got BTC coming in from various places, so I've pointed all hashrate on GM at Megacoin.
