Posting this again for visibility. As some of you may know, I finished graduate school this past summer and have now been working pretty busy hours. Because of this, I can't devote the time I was once able to, and would like to, working on VRC/VRM. Because of my inability to commit large amounts of time to the project, I am willing to donate up to 75% of my VRC holdings to help fund another developer. My VRC holding is pretty large, in the hundreds of thousands of VRC. I will be happy to disclose more specifics to any interested parties after vetting. To make it clear, I am not leaving VRC/VRM and will not be stepping away as a developer. Instead, I will be donating my own hard-earned money to help keep VRC at the forefront of the sector. Instead of going down with the ship, hopefully I can help right it. There is no minimum time commitment but milestones will be set based upon our discussion. I would like a proposal about what features or elements of the VRC code you would like to add or improve upon. I would like to see some prior code relating to another cryptocurrency project. This would be a great way to earn a large chunk of cryptocurrency. Some projects we have planned and are working on that you may want to use in your proposal/help finish: -Doug's anonymous sends/public usernames system which relies on multisig generation (you'll have to ask him for more details) -Implementation of BIP32 hierarchical determination of keys into the main core VRC wallet -An independent mobile wallet that does not rely on a central server (ideally would use SPV technology) -Improvement of VRM core wallet mining speed Please write if you have something to offer  you can always volunteer! |

I remember a time when someone said of the Vericoin board "we will NEVER go under 10k sats again" now it's under 2 cent closing in on a penny. It's like the investors got ouniahed for supporting. Some news of something relevant being worked on would be a nice xmas gift the faithful idiots who hold this coin.

Some news of something relevant being worked on would be a nice xmas gift the faithful idiots who hold this coin.
A long term community member approached us with a great mainstream use case for VeriCoin and we are partnering with him to develop it. We are in pursuit of trademarking, etc so I can't give any details yet but it's quite exciting and will be a mainstream targeted mobile app using VeriCoin as payment processor. Key part is, this is ultimately not targeted to crypto, it's a mainstream, fun, novel, potentially viral use case with VeriCoin processing transactions under the hood. It's a great idea on it's own and VeriCoin under the hood is perfect for it. Details to follow after trademarking etc is worked out. |

Very informative interview right there. Lot of information about what happened in the past, what's going on now, and what's going to come in the future. I hope that they do figure something out with Verium and actually give it a purpose. Digital commodity... Gold Standard... It needs an actual application. That's why the price of one is almost that of VeriCoin. |

Once the mining updates, the new wallet, and the marketing plan are in action it will pay off greatly.
Also expect the announcement that Doug touched on in the interview to have a positive impact on both VRC and VRM.

That's all great but when. Problem is the development is to slow so when something gets done it gets pumped a little then everything stops till the next thing. I understand the developers are busy but this coin isn't going no where unless they have people giving their dedicated time to make this coin better everyday not once a year. 2 years ago POST and nothing else this past year Verium and nothing else. Until you have that this coin is going no where the development happens to quick. It be better for them to give the keys to someone and stick around as an advisor but honestly no one worth keeping would probably deal with this coin. |

I totally agree, which is why I put my own money out there to recruit a new developer to help share the load. We have a promising candidate who has been working with Doug and I. Every Alt which is making steady progress has a large number of developers and is recruiting new ones regularly. The others are dying slowly. I have been watching this for around 3 years, and am seeing the dev. metric becoming the standard yardstick for prediction of success. Passive 'community' alone cannot sustain alts. It makes sense, because as the successful projects grow, they acquire a kind of 'gravity' that attracts the experienced talent, which is , after all, in limited supply. The other projects inevitably lose out. How many true developers are working on VRC/VRM ? |
