I Just DL'd V 1.2, the wallet splash screen is on 'importing bootstrap blockchain data file' I guess this is the equivelant of DLing the block chain? No clue what a boot strap is, unless its on my boots :/

Edit: I just clikked on the splash screen and the program crashed..fantastic. I give up.

Ok, I reinstalled v 1.2 i opted NOT to do the boot strap thing, and it loaded @ is now synced. My walled.dat is in the appdata directory, but my coins are not valid? I bought these on an exchange. Pls some one assist me. Im not going on IRC because hackers & criminals can see my IP address there.

Need Help.. my coins are gone.. why?

Official Release 1.2.3 for staking sync bug!

We found the problem and developed a simple fix for the stake syncing bug, so far so good.  If there are additional reports of de-syncing we can adjust the parameters further, but this should work for most cases

If you are in sync (most are), no need to reload the blockchain, go to step 3.


1. If you are out of sync or stuck follow these instructions

-Windows
  %appdata%\Roaming\VeriCoin

-Mac
  ~/Library/Appplication\ Support/Vericoin/

2. Keep wallet.dat and delete everthing else (best to backup wallet.dat too)


3. Install wallet:

-Mac
  download wallet place anywhere and open it up, the block will sync, may take a little while  (if first sync slows, restarting the client quickens it).

-Windows
  Double click the installer, uncheck bootstrap.dat if you are currently in sync with the explorer, otherwise leave it checked.

If you leave the bootstrap checked it will hard load the new block, can take ~5 minutes



Uncommon issue from corrupted wallet.dat

-If you get a wallet.dat error or have missing coins, you have may have a corrupted wallet.dat file follow these steps:

Click on the help menu, then Debug window, now click on the console tab.

In the text field type in this command with your receive address (public address)

dumpprivkey <address>

copy and paste this key into a text file.

Close vericoin-qt

Now delete everything in directory mentioned above including wallet.dat (best to keep a backup)

Now open vericoin-qt and let it load full block

In console tab mentioned above now type this with your private key from text file

importprivkey <privatekey>  (may take 5 minutes or so)

Okie dokie, doing it now, will post results when complete, thank you.  must say tho, even tho I been having issues, they keep trying to fix, that says a lot.. glad your team isnt just abt a copy clone & walk away & hope for best.

Ok, am doing that now, is there any way to know I did it correctly, ie. its doing w/e it does to get the coins back in play? Heres a screenshot below

My debug file is monsterous in size, some one a day or so ago wanted me to send it in to help the team figure it out, if you look a page or two back I did that.. on V1.02 I think.  Lemme see if I can figure out what the debug file says, im ot a coder or guru, so I have no idea what 1/2 of this means. Been runing the importprivkey command via console for 25 minutes so far.. nothing has happened.. ill let it keep going or restart wallet?

Im closing in on the one hour mark.. nothings happened..should I try and restart the wallet? Is it possible that guy that requested my log file some how snagged my coins, I thought he was part of the team.. I'm so confused

It's not possible to snag your coins from a log file.
