Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's
computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be
reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Are there any VRC faucets? I been looking for a week now to find one and no luck.
Its not many people yet, but a few are checking out the FreeVeriCoin.com site and It would be nice to help get them to a faucet.
I have one at http://vrcfaucet.visitbit.com/ - I loaded it up with 900 VRC last week and it's all gone now, so faucet is dry - nobody donated to keep it alive. I will help promote it. If others could help fund it we could start to build the number of VRC wallets and community. *Edit Added your faucet in, its the only VRC faucet known right now. People should support this faucet and please contact me with others to add at FreeVeriCoin.com. With all the news I have noticed vericoin domains getting more natural traffic. Lets make the most of the news flow!

Very excited, If you are not investing in silver for the long run then you should probably look into it. If you want silver go and buy silver from reputable dealer for 2/5 the cost. This is a shiny VRC souvenir.

Quick question, I am new to staking. I started last night, and the time to my first interest payment has decreased by about 7 days in 14 hours or so. Can anyone explain what the process is used to determine the length until payout?

This is a shiny VRC souvenir. It's not just a souvenir. Part of the profits go to the VeriFund, so you're helping move the community forward which is essential at this point. I'm buying 2.

This is defined in the file bitcoingui.cpp in the qt folder of the source. The way it's defined is as follows: unsigned nEstimateTime = nTargetSpacing * nNetworkWeight / nWeight; QString text; if (nEstimateTime < 60) { text = tr("%n second(s)", "", nEstimateTime); } else if (nEstimateTime < 60*60) { text = tr("%n minute(s)", "", nEstimateTime/60); } else if (nEstimateTime < 24*60*60) { text = tr("%n hour(s)", "", nEstimateTime/(60*60)); } else { text = tr("%n day(s)", "", nEstimateTime/(60*60*24)); } nTargetSpacing is 1 minute (the blocktime). nNetworkWeight is the current network stake weight. nWeight is the the amount of coins you have eligible for staking. So essentially the program estimates the time required for staking by looking at your coins, determining which ones can stake, and dividing it by the total network stake weight.

I just changed the support page to be working now on VeriCoinSupport.com
Can anyone tell me what they think about the update? We are still in beta so please don't expect to much yet! The other 3 pages are still in work. But while I am doing my web projects from now on I will be able to provide 24-7 support within reasonable time to the VeriCoin community!
Any tips or advice, especially from web masters / designers would be appreciated!

U WOT M8?!?!?So essentially the program estimates the time required for staking by looking at your coins, determining which ones can stake, and dividing it by the total network stake weight. Ha, the layman's-term answer was greatly appreciated. Looking forward to my first payment!

You know then more than anyone, you're not purchasing this for the silver. You're purchasing a collectible with this, and there is nothing wrong with it. But if you want silver, for silvers sake is a lot better ways of doing it, and you can still donate to VRC. Also, Just to bring clarity, Is any profit being taken by the producer of the coins? Whats the split between what goes to VRC fund ect. If its nearly all for the fund then I may even buy 1. If its to get someone a few bucks to sell overpriced silver, no thx

New record staking range at 12.6 million. This coin is so undervalued as it deserves to be tied in mkcap to the number 1 altcoin........Darkcoin. I truly believe we are just now beginning a longterm rise that ends with VRC battling for the number 3 spot behind Litecoin. The movement is just like when Darkcoin first awakened and went to .002, fell back and then began a long rise again that took it from .0015, past .002 and then all the way up to .028.
We have a 10x move coming given VRC has ring based anon and the instant ability to use that anon to spend Vericoins anywhere BTC is accepted. If anyone is sitting in BTC, its better to move all those savings to VRC and collect interest until you need to spend it. Then as you need to, use Verisend and Veribit to spend. It's as close to a perfect a solution as we have in crypto right now and the tech is only going to get better folks!

If its to get someone a few bucks to sell overpriced silver, no thx I am splitting all profits 50/50 with the VeriFund, not that I expect much profit because as stated in the hangout the initial costs are high, $500 - $800 for custom mold $300 - $400 for the holograms and then each coin is spot price plus a minting premium of $5 - $15 dollars, and do not forget each coin comes with a 10 VRC "Thank You" Also I could have chosen to do the coins in another metal to keep costs down but from my experience in the Physical Coin world most people want precious metal Physical Coins AND by being made out of silver this offers a dual investment (in both VRC AND Silver) and the coins will retain value even if the VRC is spent.

Why is tomorrow's wallet release a big deal?
VeriSend and VeriBit have been proven to be working technology. The problem is that they are centralized.
Once they get incorporated into the wallet and released tomorrow, they will be decentralized. This means the technology is proven and safe. This is why having VRC in a portfolio is a sound idea. Anyone with money would be insane not to buy in as much as possible right now. But, we do live in a crazy world.
