Hey genius, guess what- in order for the rollback to happen the majority of users have to agree to this and switch over to the new wallet. It is not as though the devs are able to force this to happen or do it without telling people. They don't have centralized control over the blockchain, this move is dependent upon a majority consensus by the entire decentralized system.

After the new wallet is implemented, all exchanges are going to accept ONLY the forcked coins. In practical terms it means that whoever doesn't accept the new wallet will not be able to exchange his coins.

Well, guess what.. we'll see 100% acceptance, a very successful forck indeed. This is going to be great PR.

Vericoin community supports devs in a non precedent, never before seen manner. Bingo!  Smiley

Apparently it is okay to steal from vericoin investors hard-earned money in the name of decentralization.

These people who are against the hard fork lacks empathy and integrity.

Actually hard forking to avoid a transaction makes your coin lose 100% of it's integrity.

What integrity are you talking about? Avoiding a malicious transaction?

So it is okay to steal in cryptocurrencies and get away with it now?

Dear vericoin community, we are being FUDed and its up to you how we handle this. Some of these people are here to enjoy others misery. Some are here to promote their coin. Its easy for them to point the finger when they think they know whats right and wrong and are hardly affected by the outcome. I dont like the idea of a fork or making it seem like Mintpal doesnt take any damage in this. So the devs choose one of two very shitty decisions, to hard fork the coin. This is bad, and now we have a choice. We can dump this coin back to nothing which is what would happen if we let the thieves keep the coins, Also what a lot of people want. Or we can show the crypto community that we still support the devs in this decision and hold tight. We can show them that we do not bend to FUD and what other alt communities think is "right" or "wrong". The world is not black and white like they make it sound with " I would never hard fork ever!" Most alts would die against such a problem as this. SO what will it be? Will you hold? Or do you want to be like most alts?

fud or not this coin is dead if they hardfork to avoid lost coins... you can't do that.

pls...dump all your coins. I am happy to buy them for cheap.

Really? we just did, and the community supports it, move on.

I'm reading comments and it seems like only retards support it?

You do realize that it doesn't matter who does or doesn't support it, so long as enough of the right people do?

Strictly speaking, if I really wanted to, I could prop up the price right now at it's current value indefinitely given the capital at my disposal. There isn't enough VRC to sell me to run me dry at these prices. And if the price remained stable, or even continued to rise after all of this, you don't think people would notice and follow the profits?

You seem to live in a funny world my friend. It seems starkly at odds with every reality I have ever observed in free markets.

i don't want scammers to get paid but setting reset should cost mint pal some sort of penalty. I think they should have to donate some money or something. Otherwise, i think the whole crypto community will be left with a bad taste. Ok we took all the money back from the scammers but we gave half to sick kids in africa or something.. Otherwise I'm cutting mint pal off my list of useable sites

You are kidding right. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice...

Go check the wallet count of mintpal and every other coin, You will find with that logic mintpal/bittrex control everything away from 3 coins?
Proof of Share coins, probably.  Proof of Share - aka, Proof of Nothing...

Even if VeriCoin were to completely die from this, no value in the crypto world would be lost.  ALL of VRC's features are centralized, and today's fiasco shows us exactly why that is so dangerous.

Not to mention that veribit is a complete gimmick.  Dump VRC for BTC to make purchases... Really?  This sounds pretty familiar doesn't it?  Wait, this is what I can do with EVERY altcoin on ANY exchange.  Except with centralized veribit I place my trust in the hands of VRC's "security team" (which is one person).

No thanks.

Actually veri-bit costs .20 cents to get money to bitcoin wallet from cryptsy, withdraw bitcoin and it costs .31

So, its a "gimmick" that actually saves you money! Huh, whatta gimmick!

I'm assuming everyone in this forum is smart enough to realize that all the FUD against Vericoin and the hard fork is coming from the HACKERS trying to get away with their theft.

Of course after I post this, the fudders will then deny that they are the hackers, but we're smart enough not to fall for asshole thieves.

To the hackers...you're a bunch of amateur jerkoffs for stealing the VRC.  Fuck you, the hard fork is going through.  Stop wasting your time on this forum trying to find the 8 year olds who are dumb enough to believe your lame arguments against the hard fork.  Please take your talent and use it to contribute to society rather than taking away.  Right now, you're pretty much the scum of the earth.

Yup.  A lame centralized gimmick, like all of the other VRC 'features'.

If you think that is a smart conclusion, you're the dumb one.  You really trying to say I (and others in this thread that agree with me) am holding some of those stolen coins?

Check yourself before you speak...  You are the "scum of the earth" you speak of if you dare accuse us of something like this.

And FFS... stop calling this a hardfork.  This is a blockchain rollback.  There is a huge difference.

So what is the exact time of the cutoff for what transactions the rollback will reverse?

12 hours ago? 14 hours ago?

Even if that were true, I'd rather pay the extra .11 cents to trust centralized security of Cryptsy's team than VRC's 1 man operator.

Veribit is a complete joke.  Just like it is a complete joke that they are rolling back this coin, compromising the integrity of the blockchain.  I'll have my popcorn ready for the mass dumps.

When you start reverting back to insulting other aspects of the coin it becomes clear to people that your previous posts and "recommendations" are all given with similar ill intent. You are a troll who is happy to see VRC hurting, congrats..

In your logic there should be no hardfork ever, because it is always a bailout.

If bitcoin hardforks for whatever reason, they do it to protect their coin. It is a centralized decision and they are bailing out themselves. If they would not hardfork, the coin would die. You are advocating this, so please demand it from the BTC-DEVs and the foundation.
You have a horrid sense of logic or understanding of crypto if that was your conclusion.  Hardforks are perfectly valid, specifically when a coin is developing - for security reason, or feature development.  But they should be very very carefully considered.

The key is that this VRC move isn't a hardfork, it is a blockchain rollback for external purposes that are totally unrelated to coin development.

Maybe you understand, that you are contradicting yourself, but I doubt it.
Had the hardforks in BTC protocol not occurred, it would be a dead coin. The BTC-DEVs decided to alter the blockchain and the miners followed through.

I cannot see why you wish thieves to get rewarded and the victims to get punished. The VRC-DEVs considered carefully and rightfully, that altering the blockchain at this point is the best decision for the coin, because it will restore trust in it.

BTW nothing, that happens to a coin is "totally unrelated" to its development.

Why the heck should we worry about the opinion of those who don't own vericoins?
They can't dump them.
They can only BUY them, if and when they want to.
Those who actually own Vericoins will get them back as soon as devs release the new wallet.

I'll say it again, a gimmick is something that has no value. Saving someone .10 - .11 USD on a .31 USD transaction is important no, Pretty VALUABLE would you say? Or, is it still a gimick?
