There are a lot of factors going into the increased output, and we are spiking fast still, a bit harder than the other teams from what the stats are showing right now. Its going to be fun to watch thing folding battle unfold...

If things continue more or less linearly, we should be #3 by the end of this week and #2 before the end of this year...

I'm super excited for this! We are definitely closing in on #3 fast! Keep up the good work CureCoin team members!

On the web controller, it says my total is:

Quote
268,884 go to Team Curecoin's total of 46,192,082,327

At https://www.cryptobullionpools.com, it says:

Quote
Account Balance
6.078439 CURE

Is this accurate? 268,884 points = 6 coins?

Also, how do I get those coins out, say, to poloniex?

Thank you.

That number is the total points contributed to the team ever. The payouts for cure run from midnight to midnight EST. Your folding points for Sept. 12th were 91158

http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/user_summary.php?s=&u=712151

The total points for the team that day were 112 374 712, therefore your payout should be ( 91158 / 112374712 ) * ~7488 or ~6.074241 depending on the exact number of blocks mined that day.

As far as getting the coins out, you just need to specify a withdrawal address in "My Account" on cryptobullionpools.com, and set the auto payout threshold to 1.

Are these not going to go to my account? Since they were mined in previous days, shouldn't they already have been paid out? But I only see the one for ~91k as 6 CureCoins... I'm confused as to what happened to them...

One last question, do the ~60k of FoldingCoin I had been mining before that, need to wait until the end of the month? I read that in this thread before I think, that it's per month payout?

Thank you for the help.

Yep:
We will pay the positions on a monthly basis, so you would get 1/12 of the yearly amount each month.
But it's Curecoin thread so do not ask about Foldingcoin specific here please.

Not sure exactly what you're asking for here but if you're looking for the wallet software it is at https://www.curecoin.net/ on the right hand side of the page in the blue "Download Wallet" dropdown box.

Not sure but it seems some of the folding you did was for team # 226728 which is not curecoin. If you did some WUs before you were signed up on cryptobullionpools and folding for 224497 then I don't think you get credit for those.

Wow... that is super lame. Just because I didn't sign up for a site? That wasn't even mentioned in the tutorial as required? Lame.

I've noticed my times have doubled for the same amount of Credit to receive for a task. Anyone else notice this?

I think I'm done with this mining thing. Waste of energy for pennies, and my earlier credits are lost in oblivion simply because I didn't register on a site lol. Cut my losses. Peace.

Sorry you feel that way. It is actually step two in the guide.

Windows:
Step 1:    Easy: Install the Google Chrome Folding WebApp (First Time or CPU-only Users)
                   -or-
Advanced: Install the Full Folding Client (Use CPU and GPU for Maximum Points)
Step 2:    Register with the Folding Pool

Some work units are worth less points per day than others and it is random which work units you will get, but it evens out over the course of a week. I find the variance to be far far lower than solo mining other coins.

.........Waste of energy for pennies.....

Ironic that mining is exactly that, but you were briefly folding and doing something far more valuable, but couldn't see it.

Not worth it for me. My computer is all lagged up and I can't do things normally, typing was slow, couldn't watch videos without turning it on the lowest setting and then the GPU mining which gives 6x more points would be disabled.

I did miss the second step, as I went to the end of the first and there was the Chrome setup. My bad.

You can set the folding@home client to use ur pc only when its inactive (kind of like how the screen saver turns on when the computer isnt being used). Also u need to be realistic about how much u can make off a single desktop with a low end or dated gpu. Finally if there is profit to be made u can bet ur left sock that someone has crunched the numbers and filled a warehouse with gpu's to exploit that fact.

Just to give a quick update, some Pande Labs servers are being updated right now. Work units and points are still being counted on the back end. When the updates are complete (should be any hour now) we will payout the accordingly to the accumulated stats.

As far as the recent talk about the smaller computer vs the GPU farm...

If you are going for the gusto than folding can be a lot of work, just like mining of any coin for example. There is competition for all these coins including curecoin. So people will use leading edge cards that say for folding@home produce 400k + ppd and use well under 150 watts while folding.

On the other hand, folding can be something you do for both fun and the contribution to science. I usually do not cpu fold much but recently fired up the NACL client through google chrome to fold in order to see how my laptop could handle it. Amazingly the cpu could complete an nacl work unit in 9 minutes on full and about 30 -40 minutes on half power , over an hour on min power ( at which point the temp of the CPU did not even rise from idle temps). Thats pretty good for a laptop+ folding. I ended up running it on medium and left it going for the a while. In the meantime I have a shelf with currently 4 mobo's , lots of cooling, custom ordered open air cases, and a kvm switch with a small desk to run it all. I'm in the process of upgrading it since folding looks like it could be profitable for a while so this is the best chance to be able to fold more while having the system pay for itself , and hopefully some extra.

The point to take home.. A lot of people do crypto mining / folding as a hobby. A lot do it seriously and build large farms that they update when more efficient equipment comes out. Like was mentioned you have to be realistic about the risk you are willing to take if you want to make any major gains of crypto and most things for that matter. When I first got into crypto I was pretty excited running my one GPU to mine bitcoin. Did I make much? not really.. I think I sent most of it to satoshi dice because it was not worth much then Cheesy

Anways-
We are using this chance to implement some upgrades on our end to make cryptobullionpools easier to use. So if the site is offline for a moment hold tight, she'll be right back  Wink

You have to understand that if your aim is to Rank #1 you'll need to "steal" GPU-owners from other altcoins and have them fold instead of mining. And this will not happen unless folding becomes more profitable (though CC) than mining the other altcoins.

Seems to be rather a bit of that happening the last week, after the big price spike - I know *I* switched all my 1070-based rigs over from Ethereum mining - sadly the older 9xx rigs are still making quite a bit more on ETH than on CURE and I can't afford to swap them over at this point.
Do note that the large jump in users DIRECTLY correlates to when the price of Curecoin spiked - I for one have never seen whatever that video is that was mentioned earlier in the thread, but I DEFINITELY track Curecoin pricing and relative profitablility.

Now if I could just get foldcoin working TOO (for what it's worth)....

400k ppd for a little under 150 watts sounds like the AMD 480 - folding STILL does better on NVidia gear as my 1070s do quite a bit more PPD for a little under 150 watts per card, though the RX 480 seems to have closed the gap A LITTLE. I don't have any 1060, 1080, or Titan X Pascal rigs (much less any of those insane TESLA Pascal pieces) to compare on those.

No, I don't have a warehouse full of GPUs, though sometimes I wonder about PS3Ed.....

And we're well on the way to catching HardOCP for 2'nd.

EVGA, unfortunately, seems likely to hold on to #1 for the forseeable future - though if Curecoin price stays where it's at or climbs some more that might EVENTUALLY change.

[...] sadly the older 9xx rigs are still making quite a bit more on ETH than on CURE and I can't afford to swap them over at this point.
Now if I could just get foldcoin working TOO (for what it's worth)....

While FLDC has lower value than CURE, you need to take into account that you get way more FLDC than CURE per folding day so at the end of the day you earn about as much value (in $) per day with both cryptos. And the good news is that you don't need to choose between the two. With merged folding you can earn both at the same time and therefore double your daily income. I don't think I'm too far from reality saying that merged folding is now the most profitable way to use GPUs. So, if I were you I'd switch all my 9xx rigs to merged folding...

And I'd keep my cryptos because with CURE 2.0 + SigmaX released (+/-)soon and the future reward halving of FLDC both are going to rise...

EVGA, unfortunately, seems likely to hold on to #1 for the forseeable future - though if Curecoin price stays where it's at or climbs some more that might EVENTUALLY change.

Well, if all GPU mining guys would get to know that merged folding is now more profitable than mining, we'll quickly beat EVGA. So spread the word guys and let's give F@H more computing power than they ever dreamed of!
