What happends with your speed, you are slowing down?
Can I help you with anything?

//Aboy68

I've got massive instability issues on 6 of my 9 rigs.  I'm trying like crazy to keep them running but they just won't fold more than a few hours without manual intervention.  I've underclocked my GPU's to their lowest settings and they still will not run stable.  I've got six different computers that are having this issue and each of them are running two 290X TRIX cards.  Of the three remaining machines two of them are running the same GPU's.  I've got a list a mile long of all the things I've tried to get things stable and so far none have shown any improvement.  I'm still working on it.

I've got a long thread going in the F@H forum and so far everything tried has made no difference.  It may not be fixable.  All the machines that have issues are using EVGA Z87 Classified motherboards so I've got a thread going there now as well.  I'm suspecting a BIOS setting or something but I have no idea.  I'll also start a thread on the AMD forum about it as soon as I get more time.

I've clocked all the GPU's back to much faster speeds  (core 940, memory 1200) but still slower than their default clocks.  So my overall PPD should rise again but it will fluctuate a lot due to the massive instability.  I would love to get this running properly though because my time around the machines is getting more and more limited so downtime when it happens will be longer.

I'll try to offset the longer downtime by scheduling forced restarts of the computers at set intervals.  Unfortunately the driver issues makes Windows so unstable I don't know if they will be able to restart on their own consistently.  It usually requires me to hit the reset button.  In any event, I'll still trying to get things running properly.

I've been so buried trying to keep things running and working I haven't even had time to post or sleep.  lol  On that note...  I'm going to have some beers!   Grin

What about your environment, heat? We have experienced a ridiculous effect. It's no science behind it. Our riggs have dual PSU's(4 GPU's) so there are double power cords to the rig, if we placed the cords directly on the outside of the rig we did experienced massive instability, then we did move the power cords under the rig, the rig turned out to be stable again !!! Crazy but on two different locations we saw the same effect.

Something for you to try out  Grin
//Aboy68

Thanks Aboy68!  Yeah for some reason my combination of hardware just doesn't like folding.  The ambient temperature in the room is 75F.  The GPU temps never hit 80C and the CPU temps never get above 50C (they are all liquid cooled).  In that area I've got three dedicated 20 AMP circuits and there are two machines on each circuit.  They should have amble power available to them.

What I find particularly frustrating is that these same machines in the same configurations ran for weeks unattended while Scrypt mining at a much higher power draw than they are running at now.  They were stable while Scrypt mining and won't run more than a few hours while folding.  It is just bizarre but we have to play the hand we are dealt so-to-speak.

That power cord scenario you mentioned is crazy!  lol  Sometimes I think our machines just love to irritate us!  I'm still trying to figure out what is going on.  I got some good suggestions from the EVGA group.  They are suggesting overvolting the GPU's to see what happens.  If that doesn't work it was suggested to try single plug power cables rather than split power cables coming from the PSU to the GPU.  I'll try it!  I've tried literally everything else!

The F@H support group seems to be running out of ideas now though.  They seem to want me to try an experimental build of Ubuntu.  I know nothing about Ubuntu but if I need to go that route then I'll just have to learn!

Low/wrong payout!  Huh

On web page http://curecoin.net/index.php/en/inside-curecoin/stats - User Aboy68
Yesterday in frame 14 the statistics was  about 240 coins.
Today in frame 3 the statistics are 255 coins.
My payout today was 126 coins  Angry
The payout are declining while my folding are stable and total folds are going DOWN.

Something is really spooky!!!
Please give me an understandable explanation!

Are there anybody else that have this!

------------ Edit -------------

With statistics from http://kakaostats.com/t.php?col=2&t=224497&offset=1&search_text=&filter=active
I did take the total numbers from column "Points 24h" and extracted my share of total value (From 6 pages)
Then I have 2,87% of total folding, 2,87% of 7488 are 215 coins!!!
This amount of total folding I have hade for many days, and the payouts have been 126, 146, 152, 152, 156, 157, 157.
The payout value are going in the wrong direction! Your calculations are wrong!!!

------------ Edit -------------

With statistics from http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_summary.php?s=&t=224497
Total 24h folding for team curecoin = 100,299,528
Aboy68 24h folding = 2,660,580
Share for Aboy68 are = 2.65%
2.65% of 7488 coins are 198 coins
Again a prof that your calculations are wrong!!!

Please correct the calculations and do adjustments to the faulty payouts!

Please note the stats calc is a beta tool, and does not use an identical payout method as the pool. The pool is doing what it is supposed to do.

Basically, the system was designed to give an edge to very large farms, thus discouraging the average joe folder from switching teams in an attempt to run up against large gpu farms. The point of curecoin is collect the largest farms of gpus, hence greatly increasing folding power. Further fine tuning will be implemented soon to even this out.

On a side note, linux and AMD card compatibility is in progress. Team curecoin has tossed enough power at F@H for them to put a rush on more linux based AMD compatibility. So expect the competition to grow again , AMD linux users can test the client again now, some updates are already in place.

I don't understand your reply. Are you changing the calculations?
Please explain why my coins are going down when they should go up!
I have used 3 folding statistics pages and they are all pointing in that the rewards should be higher and go up.
Please show that you have double checked the statistics and the payout levels are right the last week.

Same here. The payouts are ridiculously low. According to the FAHControls I have to get roughly 4000 PPD. Since yesterday my PPD @ cryptobullionpools were 325 (!). Today it's 910. For a whole week of folding I got 0.116 CURE which equals 0.9 cents.  Huh

I keep wondering if this F@H thing is just another project for the benefit of the elites for which we -- the slaves -- have to pay (like the whole fiat money system).

Really? You wonder this about a method of freely donating computation time to research that has existed for a decade?
